COMPOSITES Bioweb® Electrospun Polymer Membrane Composite Stent shown covered with Zeus Bioweb® composite material. OVERVIEW Electrospinning is an emerging technology that produces polymer fibers with thicknesses ranging from nanoscale to microscale. Fabrics with complex shapes can be electrospun from solutions producing a broad range of fiber and fabric properties. We have the ability to create encapsulation technology, spin membrane/sheet, and develop 3–D structures for coating substrates of varying shapes and sizes. Electrospinning produces materials with high surface– to–weight and V-0 lume ratios making these materials excellent candidates for controlled biological interactions and specialty filtration media. The porous nature of the fabric coupled with the ability to spin many types of polymers allows for the formation of implantable structures within the body. Cells can use the electrospun fabric as a scaffolding to support integration into the body. When bioabsorbable materials are used, the scaffolding is eventually safely absorbed. Additives can be incorporated into the fibers and fabrics. Electrospun membrane products and coverings are suitable for medical and industrial applications including specialty filtration media and coverings for stents. Membranes and coverings can also be modified to further increase product performance. chemical resistance APPLICATIONS • Scaffolding • Stent encapsulation • Specilaty filtration • Implantable structures in the body abrasion resistance SECONDARY/VALUE-ADD SERVICES: Product Assembly biocompatibile CAPABILITIES AND SIZING KEY PROPERTIES • Spun membrane/sheet • 3D structures • Encapsulation technology • Coating onto varying shapes and sizes • Biocompatible • Microporus • Stent encapsulation capability • Continuous membrane/sheet available • Breathable • High flexibility • Sterilizable zeusinc.com
