どうしたらもっと地球が丸くなるか考えてみました…。
今の私たちに何ができるのか？毎年、毎シーズン、僕らの創る服はそれぞれの物語から生まれています。
その物語は私が見た「変わり行く地球展」から始まりました。
それは出張の合間に行ったパリのエッフェル塔近くの公園で行われた写真展での出来事。
展示されていた作品は数十年前と現在の地球の様子を航空写真で表現していました。
それを見て愕然としました。
このままでは、私たちの住む地球は安心して暮らすどころか、どんどん住めるところが減り、
きっと争いも起こるだろうし、今でもバランスの悪い地球が更に悪い方向に向かってしまうと感じました。
そこで私はメッセージをどのように伝えるかを考え、洋服をデザインする前に物語を書くことを決めました。
それぞれのブランドでそれぞれのキャラクターが今の地球に大切なことや争いのない世界、愛にあふれた世界
を創造し、そこから洋服を考えるようにしました。
愛であふれた争いのない地球や人に優しい世界は、私たちの洋服を着ている子供たち、そしてこれから着てく
れる子供たちの心に育まれていきます。
2009年、プロジェクトがスタートしました。
タイトルは「Good Shape Good Earth / Charity Re Boo project」
このプロジェクトは毎年オーバーストックになってしまった商品をリメークして生まれ変わらせたり、お客様
が着古された商品と合わせたりします。
そのリメークした商品を販売し、収益の一部で画材などを買って、世界の恵まれない子供達に寄付をします。
そして子供達にテーマを出し絵を描いてもらいます。
描いてもらったいくつかの絵を使いブーフーウーが商品化をし、収益の一部をロイヤリティーとしてお返しす
るシステムを考えています。
お金を与えるのではなく、子供達自身が自分の可能性に気づくことを目的とし、将来への夢や希望、光を感じ
られたらというプロジェクトです。
今、私たちが出来ることは日本の子供服マーケットでこのようなシステムを構築することにより、子供達自身
の可能性を引き出すチャンスを供給でき、
またマーケットへ強力なメッセージを送ることが出来ると考えています。
少しでも多くの人が「地球をマルク」する意識を持つきっかけになればと「Good Shape Good Earth / Charity
ReBoo project」を企画しました。
はじめにこのプロジェクトを子供服からのスタートと考えていますが、色々な才能を発掘する場にも発展でき
ると思います。
この輪が広がり、子供達自身が夢や希望が持ち、またその子供たちが感動を与えられるように育っていけば、
今より争いのない、愛と平和に満ちた世界に近づくのではないでしょうか？
将来安心して住める地球は、子供達が守っていかねばなりません。
その彼らにしてあげることそれが何なのか、今考え行動すべきときではないでしょうか？

I have been wondering…what can make the Earth more peaceful?
What can we do now?
Every season of every year, our clothing is created from “the story”.
The story started when Widle saw an exhibition called “Transfiguration of the Earth”.
It was when Widle went to Paris for a business trip that he saw the exhibition in the park in front of the
Eiffel Tower. What Widle saw there was aerial photographs of Earth, some from decades ago and
some from today.
He was really shocked to see how much the Earth has changed due to what humans have done to it.
“If we don’t do anything now, it will soon become harder to live peacefully, and that will cause strife
and make the situation even worse!”
That inspired Widle to start writing the stories for each brand of BooFooWoo.
Characters from the stories teach us what we need to do to create a world of peace and love, and
that is the inspiration for new designs in each season.
And now, the designers of the next generation will follow on from Widle’s stories.
From Widle to the designers and the children, the message to aim for, a world of peace and love, will
be spread, and grow bigger in their hearts.
Time has passed, it is now the year 2009, and another project will start.
The title is “Good Shape, Good Earth Charity Re Boo Project”.
In this project, we will remake stock items using BooFooWoo clothes donated by customers. A part of
the profit will be spent to purchase painting materials and these will be donated to underprivileged
children.
Then, we will ask these children to draw pictures based on a theme. Some of the drawings will be
commercialized as BooFooWoo products, and the royalties will be returned to the children.
This project is aimed at helping the children exploit their potential and discover their dreams and
hopes in a brighter future.
What we can do in the market of children’s apparel today is to develop a system to provide children
with the opportunities to discover their potential and to leave an important message on the market.
This project is based on the children’s apparel which is the most available for us, but it can also be a
way of digging up hidden talents in music and dance.
If the movement of “Good Shape Good Earth Charity Re Boo Project” expands, there will be more
children full of dreams and hope. And they will surely play a large part in creating a world of peace
and love.
We have to take responsibility to protect the Earth and create a place where we can live peacefully.
Now the time to really think about what we can do and what we should do for the children and their
future.
