Dear ERRIN Members,
I would like to ask for your participation in an event on “The impact on health and equity
of social and economic policies”, to be held in the European Parliament area in Brussels
on 29th of September 2015, where we will present and discuss the main findings of the
European research project SOPHIE.
In SOPHIE, project funded by the EU 7th Framework Programme (call Health-2011), we
have generated new evidence on the health impacts - by gender, socio-economic position
and origin – of policies that shape people’s living circumstances, including macroeconomics
(economic cycles, fiscal policies), social protection (unemployment benefits, family
policies), labour market (active labour market policies, employment relations), built and
social environment (urban renewal, urban planning, neighbourhood safety), housing
(housing systems, social accommodations, building retrofitting), gender equity and
immigrant integration. You can find up-to-date information on the topics we are covering
and our scientific publications on the project website.
Please find attached a preliminary agenda of the panels and topics to be covered.
We look forward to your reactions and we are available to answer questions and discuss
the details of our proposal.
Please, kindly confirm your participation to: [email protected]
