Using the lost wax casting method the designs capture all the beauty and exquisite detail of nature in metals, pearls and stones. The Silver Seasons designs are easily recognizable and are featured in the finest museums, craft galleries and specialty retailers in the world. Many of the collections are licensed by leading museums such as The Victoria & Albert Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The National Gallery of Art, George Washington’s Mt. Vernon Ladies’ Association and the French government honoring World War I veterans. Ongoing projects include collaboration with the 9/11 Memorial in New York. Artist Michael Michaud studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s prestigious school for American craftsmen, graduating in 1980. While there he studied under esteemed designers Hans Christenson and Gary Griffin mastering many of the techniques he uses today. In 1991, fortunate enough to be living in the Connecticut countryside and working near New York City’s flower district, Michael’s love of nature began to combine with his love of jewelry. Today’s collection is a combination of Michael’s exceptional knowledge of jewelry making and that love of nature. He has perfected the technique of creating models from natural elements and, after models are made, manipulating these “copies of nature” into beautiful jewelry. Using bronze, sterling silver or gold and natural stones, hand formed glass and freshwater pearls, Michael’s designs have become well known for their remarkable craftsmanship and beauty. Michael was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Westport, Connecticut. When the World Trade Center rebuilding is complete, 400 trees will surround the Memorial. This grove consists of oak trees with the focal point being a Callery pear which is better known as the Survivor Tree. The Callery pear tree was originally planted at the World Trade Center site in the 1970’s. It was discovered in the rubble weeks after the 9/11 attacks with snapped roots and a blackened trunk. It was taken to the Arthur Ross Nursery in Van Cortland Park in the Bronx and nursed back to health. It was 8-feet tall at the time of the attacks and today stands 35-feet tall. It was re-planted at the site in December 2010. Artist Michael Michaud and the Four Seasons Design Group© are proud to present nature reproductions cast from the trees that adorn the new site. Each Swamp White Oak tree was specially selected from within a 500 mile radius of the World Trade Center site as well as locations in Pennsylvania and Washington, DC to symbolize those areas directly impacted on September 11, 2001. The trees serve as graceful and hopeful symbols of life and longevity. Using bronze and other metals with natural stones, freshwater pearls and hand formed glass beads or elements, the designs capture all the beauty and exquisite detail of nature in metal. New Accounts The opening order minimum is $500. All first orders are Credit Card. Terms are not automatically established after the first shipment. Customers must submit credit references and request net 30 terms. We do not establish terms when an order is ready to ship. Please remember that it can take up to five weeks for your references to respond to us. Reorders, Repairs and Returns The reorder minimum is $50. This includes “special orders” for individual clients. As orders are entered into our system the day they are received, it is not possible to "add on" to an existing order. Please remember that our minimum shipping & handling charge is $7.00. We are happy to repair or replace at our discretion any defective merchandise. Defective merchandise is defined as having manufacturing defects. Repairs require a return authorization number so please call the number below for a RA number. All packages without a number on the outside will be refused. Silver Seasons does not accept returns of merchandise for exchange or trade. Please be aware of this policy when placing your order. Materials The majority of our designs are available in bronze. Please consult the price list for availability. Our bronze pieces are hand patinaed or oxidized to bring out the natural colors of the metal. Sterling silver pieces are oxidized and then relieved to obtain a contrast of light and dark areas. Many newer designs also feature layered colors of gold, silver and copper and utilize a feature known as “relieving”. Pearls are freshwater, glass beads are hand cast or hand formed, and stones are all semi precious, unless otherwise indicated on the price list. Colors are only available as noted on the price list. Earrings are available only as noted on the price list: post, clip or wire. Ear posts and wires are all sterling silver. Ear posts and wires on the spinner items are surgical steel. Packaging and Shipping All styles are individually poly bagged. Moss green pouches with the Silver Seasons logo are available upon request. Minimum shipping charge is $7.00.
