What is a government?
Making laws, collects taxes, keeps the people safe, runs the military, and enforce the laws
Types:
 Dictatorship: One person has the power, absolute, usually take power by force
 Direct Democracy: All citizens vote directly on all issues
 Republican Democracy: Citizens elect representatives who will
make laws and decisions
 Absolute Monarchy: King or Queen has complete power
 Constitutional Monarchy: King or Queen, but their power is limited
by the people/parliament
 Communism: Single ruler runs government and government owns and controls all businesses
