11. Research group
My research group ”Metapopulation and conservation genetics of
endangered species” is investigating especially the population genetics,
migration and natural selection in endangered species living in fragmented
habitats using DNA-markers. In this moment we have concentrated on the
research of population biology and genetics of large carnivores in Finland.
In this moment there are four research projects going on in the group:
•
"Spatiotemporal processes underlying population structure and
phylogeography of Primula sibirica group plant species"
•
“Conservation genetics of the large carnivores in Finland and
neighbouring areas”
