Funded by two research grants from the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation and based
on interviews with George H.W. Bush, Brent Scowcroft, James Baker, Marlin Fitzwater, Cohn
Powell, Jack Matlock, and other Bush administration officials, this study explores how
differences between Ronald Reagan and George Bush affected the end of the Cold War.

U.S. History survey course was named as the winner of the 2004 Board of Regents Faculty
Recognition Award for Excellence in E-Learning, South Dakota Board of Regents. This is an award
given to the course that best integrates technology into the curriculum. Only four classes statewide
are singled out for this award, one in each of four categories.
