LAKEVIEW, Ore. – The Bureau of Land Management, Lakeview District, Lakeview Resource Area is initiating the EIS process to analyze the potential environmental impacts of expanding an existing perlite mining operation in Lake County, Oregon.

Lakeview, Ore. - The next Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council (RAC) meeting is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, July 13-14 at the Harney County Community Center located at 484 N Broadway in Burns, Oregon 97720. The two-day meeting is scheduled for Monday 1 to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 8 a.m. to noon.

By 12:00 pm this afternoon, there have been 15 reported wildfires started by the recent storms. The largest fire is the 2 acre Threes Creeks Fire on the Fremont-Winema National Forest. All other fires have remained small at 0.10 acre on lands managed by the Lakeview District of Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Fremont-Winema National Forest, and Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF). In addition, one lightning fire has been reported at Crater Lake National Park but it too has remained small in size.
