The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will begin charging fees at Umtanum, Lmuma Creek, Big Pines and Roza Recreation Sites on Sunday, May 15. Site use fees are charged from May 15 through September 15. Fees charged at the four recreation sites include a $15 per site overnight fee and a $5 per-vehicle day use fee.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Spokane District, has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) that addresses grazing use and incorporates recommendations for greater sage-grouse habitat management on lands administered by the BLM, Wenatchee Field Office within the Sulphur Canyon Allotment. This allotment is located in Douglas County, Washington, approximately 14 miles northwest of Coulee City.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Spokane District Office will be hosting a public meeting at 6:00pm, May 8, 2014 to answer questions about an upcoming prescribed fire in the Pierre Lake area of Stevens County, Washington. The meeting will be located at the Stevens County Fire District 8 station at 3585 Sand Creek Road, Kettle Falls, WA 99141. The prescribed fires will occur on two burning days between May 12 to June 13.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Spokane District Office will be conducting prescribed fires in the Huckleberry Mountains area of Stevens County between October 9 and October 31. Approximately 430 acres of public land will be burned. The overall goal of this burn is to reduce the fire hazard and intensity.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Spokane District is pleased to report that the boat launch area at Coffeepot Lake is now open and available for use by boat trailers. Unusually low lake levels led to the boat launch closure. Due to lots of spring runoff, concrete obstacles have been removed and the boat launch is again open to trailer-launched boats.

As a result of public comments received after the January 2013 release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) identifying a Preferred Alternative the BLM, Pacific Power, and the Yakima Training Center (YTC) met and identified a new route that is located largely on YTC land.
