INTRODUCTION
The ROC Search Report better known as “Maklumat Syarikat’ is a common
report that can be obtained easily from the Suruhan Syarikat Malaysia (SSM)
for a small fee. Many may use this report as an initial or even primary source
of information to find out about a company. Users may use the information in
the report as a basis to evaluate the company’s management, financial
performance and position for a variety of reasons.
However, the report may not be helpful and useful if the user does not have
an understanding of corporate entities, how the information on the report is
obtained and arranged and where to look for additional information if there is
inadequate information to do the evaluation.
This seminar is intended to equip users with the knowledge on the workings
of corporate entitles and filing requirements at the ROC so as to enhance the
reading of the report in an effective manner.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Differentiate between the various types of business entities and the risks
associated with each type.
2. Understand where and how information is obtained in compiling the ROC
Report and evaluate the usefulness of the information contained therein.
3. Identify the various statutory forms and their functions; and how they
assist in the users in better understand the target company.
4. Relate and co-relate information on the report and draw out meaningful
conclusion.
5. Understand how financial data is arranged in the financial section of the
Report and how to re-construct them in a meaningful manner for analysis.
6. Use simple ratios to assessing a company’s liquidity, profitability and
financial structure.

Winson Han is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has over 30 years of
experience having served in various roles as practicing accountant, company
secretary, financial controller and management consultant.
He has facilitated many public and in-house seminars in financial analysis, financial
planning & budgeting, credit and collections for clients like Sime Darby, TNB, TM,
RHB Bank, MIA and CIMA over the years. He has been the principal facilitator for
“Financial Analysis and Valuation”, a core paper for a post graduate diploma in
applied finance and investment awarded by FINSIA, Australia.
Mr. Han holds a degree in commerce from New Zealand and is a member of the
New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, Malaysian Institute of
Accountants and Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries.
Methodology
He is the Managing Consultant of Arrow Consulting Team Sdn Bhd, a company
that focuses on assisting SMEs to better manage their businesses through an
integrated process covering strategic planning; tactical design, planning and
implementation; and monitoring, review and analysis.

His initial involvement in training commenced as early as 1975 when he was
lecturing in curriculum for working adults in the educational institutions viz. Goon
Institute, Goon Computer & Management Studies Center and Informatics
Computer Center. His last position was as Group Accountant in the commercial
sector before establishing his own firm and commencing practice in 1985 as
corporate consultants, financial planner and company secretaries.ВЂВЂ
Mike Ng has now returned to his initial interest in training and desire to impart his
knowledge and experience to others. In 1997 he was conferred the Pingat Jasa
Kebaktian (PJK) Award by His Royal Highness, The Sultan of Selangor in recognition
of his contribution towards community & social work in Selangor.
Mike is a fellow member of the Association of International Accountants, United
Kingdom, National Institute of Accountants, Australia; and Malaysian Association
of Company Secretaries. He is also a member of the Malaysian National Computer
Confederation and a Certified Financial Planner.

Cancellation / Transfer / Refund
Written cancellations/transfer notice received:
- 7 working days before the event, full refund of registration fee will be made.
- Less than 7 working days before the event are subject to administrative fee of 25% of the full registration fee.
You may substitute an alternate participant(s) or transfer to another event with 7 working days’ notice. Any difference in fees will be charged
accordingly.
6. Confirmed registrant who failed to attend on the day of event and did not cancel his registration in writing is liable for the entire fee.
7. In the event of cancellation by Arrow Training, all fees will be refunded in full, or the participant may reschedule to the next available seminar.
