I apologize for the error. More new Super Senior Members joining in 2014 are Dede De Grote, Pat Lake, Pat Pasiewicz, and Paulette Pikus. WELCOME! At the July meeting, Bill Reichenborn reported that the gift shop sold $735.00 more than what was forecasted to sell. Congratulations to Jordy Powell and Mary Tucker, managers, and to the hard-working volunteers, Shirley Garner, Karen Graham, Louise Pleimling, and substitutes, Pat Lake, Dorothy O’Connor, Rachel Raveling, and Diane Strandberg. Also at the July meeting, Bernice Olson said a $250.00 grant would be given that day to Stepping Stones Homeless Shelter, as they are now able to remodel the building’s basement for kitchen space, storage space, etc. Members that went to present the grant and take a photo on behalf of the club were: Karen Graham, Lavonne Hayes, Bernice Olson, Mary Tucker and Joyce Ulmer. I’m still full. Our annual picnic was held August 1st and was a great success with chicken, potato salad, beans, and ice cream to eat! Yummy. We had fun playing Bingo afterwards. Thank you Bob Powell for being our Bingo Caller. What a great job Helen Swaim has done organizing this event, as she does every year. Thank you. We welcome all the books, jewelry, Christmas items, new craft items, flea market items, and new raffle items that you can donate. All items may be brought to the senior center beginning October 1st. There will be a designated area set aside for Christmas and flea market items. Craft items should be taken to the gift shop and marked as bazaar items. Raffle items should also be taken to the gift shop and marked for the bazaar. Questions about the raffle should be directed to Karen Graham at 763-767-0266. At 9:00 a.m. there will be a bazaar meeting in the room behind the gift shop.
