Your cooperation will ensure that the waste on your verge is collected on time. PLEASE DO: 99Place your waste neatly on the verge no more than SEVEN DAYS prior to the scheduled start date for your area (please refer to table overleaf ) 99Place your waste on your own verge by Monday 6.00am (including public holidays) on the scheduled start date for your area, as the contractor will only check your verge once. Allow five to seven working days for your collection. Residents who have restricted verge access are requested to contact the Waste Alliance on 9550 4700 for advice prior to the collection commencing in your area. PLEASE DO NOT: 88 Obstruct the footpath, your normal bin services or the line of sight of pedestrians, cyclists or cars 88 Place your waste inside your property line 88 Place your waste on other verges as it WILL NOT be Junk and Metals Verge Collections Remember: Please DO NOT place greenwaste out for this collection. The following items WILL be collected: The following items WILL be collected: 99 99Scrap metal 99Timber products Whitegoods (fridge, stove, etc) (up to 1.5m in length) 99 99Three 6’ x 4’ trailer loads General junk or three cubic metres only (excess waste will not be removed) Please consider the opening size of the collection vehicle when placing items out for collection - maximum 1.5m wide by 1.2m height. Note: doors MUST be detached from fridges and freezers. The following items WILL NOT be collected: 88 greenwaste, stumps, 88 NO palm logs or tree roots NO objects exceeding 1.5m asbestos or fibre cement 88 NO products 991.5m in length 99300mm in diameter 99Two 6’ x 4’ trailer loads or two cubic metres of greenwaste only (excess greenwaste will not be removed) bricks, sand, building 88 NO rubble, cement or concrete car bodies, vehicle parts, 88 NO tyres or batteries household hazardous, 88 NO medical or veterinary waste 88 NO paints, chemicals, oils or acids plate glass or shower 88 NO screens 88 Tie your greenwaste in bundles or place into bags 88 Prune or remove street trees. This is the City’s responsibility Please follow all the rules governing the verge collections as littering/illegal dumping fines are in place and enforceable. Tree and shrub prunings up to foodstuff or domestic 88 NO rubbish collected from vacant properties or public reserves As verge collections are picked up by mechanical means, please DO NOT place your waste next to trees, power poles, walls, street signs, sprinklers or water meters (as these may be damaged). Greenwaste Verge Collections The truck collecting metal products is separate to the general junk collection vehicle. Place bulk rubbish on the verge in two separate piles without obstructing footpaths. The following items WILL NOT be collected: 88 NO weeds and root materials 88 NO sand and soil materials 88 NO dug out lawn 88 NO leaves and lawn clippings 88 NO general rubbish, junk or metals 88 NO palms, logs or trunks larger than 300mm in diameter 88 NO greenwaste more than 1.5m in length 88 NO waste in bags or boxes
