DONALD STANLEY WILF 84 an extraordinary
multitalented artist, designer, business consultant, landscaper and architectural consultant died January 15th in Haverford Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of the Philadelphia
College of Art. As a student he won an award
for television design in a juried show by
Broadway designer Joe Melziner. He began
his own interior design company as Donald
Stanley Incorporated. He also was design
consultant to various businesses including
the DuPont company of Wilmington Delaware. As an artist he showed his paintings in
14 different exhibitions by invitation with
other artists over the years. The majority of
his paintings were sold at these events. He
painted in nearly all mediums including oil,
pastel, gouache and a specialized ceramic
painting technique. His 175 purchased paintings are in private collections in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Florida, Arizona, Oregon and Paris France.
His paintings have a theatricality of another
time and place when manners, gestures and
presence was respected and held in esteem.
Faces were deliberately eliminated in some
paintings because facial features can be a
distraction. The viewers have to bring their
own personal experiences to derive the true
depth of his work. His art reflects his own life
experiences. Prior to retirement he retained a
client base of 30 to 40 clients per year..
He also designed sets and costumes for the
University of Pennsylvania Modern Dance
Department and was its resident designer. He
freelanced as costume designer for the showgirls during the era of the Latin Casino in
New Jersey. He was producer/designer for 10
weeks summer reviews for four consecutive
years at the Log Tavern resort in the Poconos. He designed the entire costume catalog for one of the major costume businesses
in Philadelphia for several years.
DONALD WANTED TO THANK ALL OF THE
PEOPLE WHO GAVE HIM THE PLEASURE OF
FRIENDSHIP AS WELL AS CLIENT FRIENDS
WORKING WITH THEM IN THEIR HOMES.
HE THANKS YOU ALL! He is survived by
DR. PETER H ARGER M.D. his life long partner for 50 years as well as his personal business partner and his brother JEROME WILF.

our lives go on without you
But nothing is the same
We have to hide our heartaches
When someone speaks your name
Sad are the hearts that love you
Silent the tears that fall
Living our lives without you
is the hardest part of all
You did so many things for us
Your heart was kind and true
And when we needed someone
We could always count on you
The special times will not return
When we were all together
But with the love within our hearts
You will be with us forever
We love and miss you
