Ulexite exists as solid, cauliflower, fiber and
column. Pure one has white colour and it has grey
colour too. Even, the colour of pure ulexite can
be silk brightness. Ulexite exists with colemanite,
hydroboracite and probertite together. Ulexite is
found in Kırka, Bigadiç and Emet in Turkey.
Some Applications and Benefits
Insulation of Heat and Sound
It is used in production of insulation material for houses and cars. It provides fire retarding
and preventative effect at cellulosic materials and heat resistant fabrics.
Glass and Ceramic Industries
It is used for decreasing melting point at production of glass and it is used for increasing
resistance to thermal shock and coefficient of thermal expansion. Also, it is used in ceramics
and enameled glaze formulations.
Fertilizer
Ulexite is used in the production of micronutrients and fertilizer.
