Muhterem Müslümanlar!
Bu haftaki hutbemiz İslam`da yeni doğan
çocuklarımıza karşı ilk vazifelerimiz hakkında
olacaktır.
Evlatlarımıza karşı ilk vazifelerimiz aslında daha
dogmadan evvel, anne karnında iken baslar.
Çocuğun ahlakına tesir edeceğinden, annenin yediğiiçtiği, helal haram cihetinden çok mühimdir. Bu husus
göz ardı edilirse imtihan daha ilk safhasında
kaybedilmiş olur. Cenab-ı Hakk Kur`an-I Kerimde
şöyle buyuruyor: “Mallarınız ve çocuklarınız sizin
için elbette bir imtihandır.” (Sure-i Tegabün/15)
Doğduktan sonraki vazifelerimiz; güzel bir isim
koymak ve mustehap olarak akikalarını kesmektir.
Zira sahabe-I kiram, Peygamber Efendimizin bu
husustaki tatbikatını şöyle ifade etmişlerdir: “
Resulullah, yeni doğan çocuğa yedinci günü isim
verilmesini ve akika kesilmesini emretti” (Tirmizi)
Evvela güzel bir isim seçilmelidir. Güzel isimler
çoktur. Mesela Resulullah efendimizin mübarek
isimleri, diğer peygamberlerin isimleri, Eshab-ı
kiramın, ehl-i sünnet âlimlerinin ve evliyanın isimleri
yahut bu mübarek zatların, çocuklarına verdikleri
isimler tercih edilmelidir.
Bir ismin güzel olması için mutlaka Kur’an-ı kerimde
bulunması gerekmez. Değişik isim olsun diye yahut
en güzel isim olsun diye Kur’an-ı kerimde geçen her
kelimeyi, sırf Kur’an-ı kerimde geçtiği için çocuğa isim
olarak koymak, çok yanlış olur. Çünkü Kur’an-ı
kerimde güzel isimlerin yanında kâfirlerin ve
kötülüklerin isimleri de vardır.
İmam-ı Rabbani hazretleri, bir din düşmanının ismini
almış bir Müslümanı ikaz ederek şöyle buyuruyor:
“Bir müslümanın, bir kâfir ismini almaktan,
korkunç aslanlardan kaçmaktan daha çok
kaçması ve onu çok çirkin görmesi icab eder. Bu
isimler ve onların sahipleri, Allahü Teâlânın
düşmanlarıdır.” (Mektubat-ı Şerife 1/23)
Güzel bir isim seçildikten sonra, doğumunun yedinci
gününde, ayakta kıbleye dönülerek, sağ kulağına
ezan-ı Muhammedi, sol kulağına da kamet okunarak
besmele-i şerifeyle ismi çocuğun kulağına üç defa
söylenir. Daha sonra hayır dua edilir.Çocuğun ismini
ilim ehli, salih bir zata koydurmak daha münasip
olur.Zira Eshab-ı kiram, çocuklarına isimlerini
Peygamber efendimize verdirmeyi tercih etmişlerdir.
Hadis-I şerifte şöyle buyrulmuştur: “Yeni doğan
çocuğun sağ kulağına ezan, sol kulağına da
kamet okunursa, “Ümmü sıbyan” hastalığından
korunmuş olur.”

Yeni doğan çocuk için Cenab-I Hakk`a şükür olarak
kesilen kurbana “akika kurbanı” denir. Akika
kurbanı kesmek mustehabtir. Doğduğu günden
itibaren her zaman kesilebilir. Yedinci günü kesmek
daha faziletlidir. Kurban Bayramında da kesilebilir
Doğumunun yedinci günü, çocuğun saçları tıraş
edilir ve saçlarının ağırlığınca altın veya gümüş
sadaka verilip kurbanı kesilir. Akika, çocukları
belalardan, hastalıklardan korur. Erkek çocuk için iki,
kız çocuk için bir akika hayvanı kesilir. Zira erkek
çocuk, hareketliliği itibariyle kazalara belalara daha
yakındır. İki kurbanın peşpeşe kesilmesi şart değildir,
ikincisi daha sonra da kesilebilir. Ölmüş olan çocuk
için de akika kesilebilir, şefaat etmesine sebep olur.
Bir kimse için doğduğu zaman akika kesilmemişse,
ileride büyüdüğü zaman kendisi kestirebilir.Zira
Resulullah efendimiz nübüvvetten sonra, kendisi için
akika kesmiştir (Şir’atu`l-İslam).

Her sene olduğu gibi, bu sene de, muhtaç
ülkelerdeki müslümanlar için kesilmek üzere kurban
kampanyamız başlamıştır. Şimdiden vekâletlerinizi
bize verebilirsiniz.
Dear Muslims
This week’s Hutbe will be about our initial duties
towards our new-born children. Our duties primarily
begin when the child is in the mother’s womb.
Because the child’s character depends on the mother
feeding on Helaal or Haraam foods, it is very
important for the mother to be careful on what she
eats. If we neglect these matters, this will result us
losing the trial from the start. Allah (cc) says the
following in the holy Quran “Your wealth and your
children are only a trial” (Surat-ut tagabun/15)
to their ear along side with the Basmalah. After this is
complete, dua’s should be done for the child. To
allow an Alim or a Salih person to name the child
would be more appropriate. The Sahabi’s have all
demanded the Prophet (sas) to name their new-born
children. In a Hadisi Sherif Prophet Muhammed (sas)
says “If the Ezan is read to the right ear and the
Kaamah to the left ear of a new-born child, that
child will be protected from the illness of „Ummu
Sibyaan‟.
Dear Mumins
Our duties after there’re born are; to name them with
beautiful names and to slaughter an Aqikah Qurbani
for them. This is because the Sahabi’s expressed
Prophet Muhammed (sas)’s practice by saying “The
Prophet commanded us to name our new-born
children at the seventh day of their birth and to
slaughter an Aqikah Qurbani for them”
The Qurbani that is slaughtered to thank Allah for the
new-born child is called the Aqikah Qurbani. To
slaughter an Aqikah Qurbani is Mustahaab. This
Qurbani can be slaughtered any time after the child
has born. However, to slaughter it on the seventh day
of their birth is more beneficial. It can also be
slaughtered on Eid-ul Adha.
Initially a nice name should be chosen. There are a
lot of beautiful names. For instance one of our
Prophets beautiful names, the names of the other
Prophets, the names of the Sahabi’s, the names of
the Ahli Sunnah Alims, the names of the Veliyyullah
and the names they have given to their children.
On the seventh day of birth, the hair of the new-born
child should be cut and a Sadaqa of gold or silver
should be given according to the weight of their hair,
also a Qurbani should be slaughtered. The Aqikah
Qurbani will protect the child from various calamities
and illnesses. For baby boys two Qurbani’s and for
baby girls one Qurbani should be slaughtered. This is
because a boy is potentially closer to getting into
trouble and accidents than a girl. The two Qurbani’s
of the boy doesn’t have to be slaughtered at once;
the second one can be slaughtered later on. Also an
Aqikah Qurbani can be slaughtered for a child that
has passed away, in order to gain their shefaah.
For a name to be considered beautiful and
appropriate, it doesn’t need to be mentioned in the
holy Quran. To name a child with any word that is
mentioned in the Quran just because it’s in the Quran
or for it to be a unique name is not a right thing to do,
because in the holy Quran, the names of the Kafir’s
and bad actions are also mentioned along side with
beautiful things.
Imam Rabbani (ra) warned a person who was named
after a kafir by saying “A person must avoid from
the names of Kafir‟s more than avoiding from
wild lions and should feel unpleased against
them. These names and their owners are the
enemies of Allah”
After a nice name has been chosen for the new-born
child, on the seventh day of birth, they should be
turned facing the Kiblah. The Ezan should be read to
the right ear and the Kaamah should be read to the
left ear. Then their name should be said three times
If a child’s Aqikah wasn’t slaughtered at the time, that
person can slaughter his own Aqikah Qurbani later
on after he grows up. This is because Prophet
Muhammed (sas) has slaughtered his own Aqikah
after he became Prophet.
