Bearing in mind the features of its activities and types of goods handled by its
members, the Chamber also has more specialized forms of organization working on
trade-specific issues as part of corresponding associations.
Such forms of organization work on matters related to: trade in agricultural equipment
and spare parts, household appliances and other devices, textile, clothing production
and production of other textile products, motor vehicles and spare parts, wood
industry products, secondary raw materials and environmental protection, fire
protection and occupational safety etc.
OBJECTIVES AND TASKS
The Trade Association is a professional form of organization and operation
within the Economic Chamber of Macedonia. It gives members of the Chamber
working in the field of trade the chance to make decisions independently and
perform operations and tasks of interest to their corresponding activities.
The association unites and gives voice to interests of legal entities that work
in the wholesale and/or retail trade sectors.
The Association’s members may establish other forms of organization in line
with their needs and goals in order to identify, define and present specific interests.

Looking into matters regarding the promotion of operations and resolution
of current issues in its field, organizing promotional activities and trade fairs,
exhibitions, visits by business delegations of special interest to the Association
and its members;
Reconciling existing discrepancies and differing interests within the said field of
operations, bearing in mind the interests of the economy as a whole;
Adopting conclusions and proposing measures of mutual interest to its members
which at the same time are not contrary to the positive legal regulations and
good business practices in our country;
Looking into draft laws and other regulations, giving opinions and proposals on
issues of mutual interest to the members and launching initiatives for adopting,
amending and modifying regulations;

Initiating and establishing cooperation on issues of common interest with
members of other associations within the Chamber and promoting international
cooperation in line with the Chamber’s program activities and general acts;
Developing the business climate in the country, encouraging implementation
of European rules and standards, functional education and innovations as part
of the skills of professionals in the field;
Promoting the Chamber as a distinguished business institution and a neutral
place where businesses can discuss matters of interest to the economy;
Building strong and close partnership ties with competent state bodies and
institutions, especially with the Ministry of Economy and inspection bodies,
for the purpose of creating a good business environment based on fair
competition.
Cooperation and partnership with competent state bodies and institutions
is of paramount importance as it offers multifold benefits - including the chance
to take a proactive stance and prevent adoption and implementation of certain
laws and bylaws, combat the grey economy and unfair competition etc. Such
cooperation would lead to higher efficiency, good business climate, continuous
quality improvement and economic prosperity.
Organization of the Association
The Association works in line with existing acts on organization and manner
of operation and all other acts adopted by the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.
The Association performs its activities by holding plenary sessions attended
by representatives of its members.
The Management Board of the Association focuses on accomplishing goals
and tasks set out in the Association’s Rules of organization and method of operation,
its agenda and other acts adopted by the Chamber.

Wholesale trade is the procurement of goods that are subsequently sold
to retailers, various processing companies or large consumers in the country or
abroad.
