Postojeća mrežna infrastruktura ne zadovoljava stvarne prijenosne potrebe. Stoga se preporučuju ispitivanje postojeće kabelske infrastrukture i zamjena barem 500 m pristupnog dijela mreže novim xDSL kabelima kako bi se povećali prijenosni kapaciteti i poboljšale performanse same mreže. Kako se, međutim, svakim danom broj korisnika u sustavu povećava, djelomična zamjena infrastrukture uskoro neće zadovoljavati prijenosne potrebe. Najbolje je rješenje zamjena kompletne mreže novim xDSL kabelima, jer današnjim ulaganjem u mrežu osiguravamo kapacitete za buduće potrebe, što u konačnici smanjuje troškove i pruža mogućnost širenja mreže na nove korisnike i nove usluge bez dodatnih ulaganja. The required higher speed of transmission imposes the need for a broader width of the transmission band which supports the shortest transmission of information per one channel and the achievement of the satisfactory quality of the service (QoS).
