Procurement come attività integrata nel sistema Banca Mondiale per perseguire obiettivi come la riduzione della povertà estrema e prosperità condivisa ; 2. “Value for Money”: la realizzazione del massimo risultato di sviluppo (per ogni dollaro speso); 3. “Fit for Purpose”, possibilità di adattare l’approccio in base al contesto e anche di utilizzare i sistemi locali; 4. Rafforzamento delle istituzioni locali, in modo da renderle capaci di gestire il procurement secondo principi condivisi; 5. Nuovo sistema di regole in linea con l’evoluzione delle prassi del mercato globale, in particolare riguardo a e-Procurement e accordi di PPPs.
