Background
The idea behind of the Executive Programme in Heritage Management comes after the past experiences of
organizing international scientific collaborations between Iran, Portugal and Italy with an outstanding choice of
partners and professionals. The First International Workshop on Urbanization and Cultural Landscape took
place between July 4-16 2011 in Turin-Italy, The International Workshop on Landscape Quality Assessments in
September 3-11 2012 between Lisbon-Portugal and The Second International Workshop on Urbanization and
Cultural Landscape between July 17-31 in Turin-Italy.
Presentation
The Executive Programme in Management of Complex Environments is a complete scientific and executive
programme that deals with topics such as socio-cultural development, public participation, cultural/natural
heritage management and conservation, cultural landscape, historic urban landscape, urbanization, divided
cities, small islands development strategies and coastal design, cultural routes, sacred landscapes, transboundary heritage sites, territorial communication and much more.
It is a unique programme of its kind and is the first edition of the School in Heritage Management's executive
programme. This training programme aims at focusing on the governance and the management of heritage
sites with a socio-cultural anchorage. Heritage as a potential vehicle for support could accelerate local
