The Association “Centro Portici”, the Department of Business and Economics (DISAE) of
University Parthenope (Naples), the CICSE “Centro Interiuniversitario Crescita & Sviluppo
Economico”, and the University of Sannio organize the Summer School in Economic Growth in
the astonishing location of the Island of Capri (Italy) between 1st and 3rd July, 2014. The Summer
School will give Graduate Students and Young Researchers the opportunity to interact with
leading economists and learn about frontier research in the field of Economic Growth.
Topics include recent advancement in:






Unified growth theory and comparative development;
Diversity and development;
Geography and development;
Institutional and cultural foundations of long-run growth;
Institutions, norms, and markets in comparative perspective;
Entrepreneurship, culture and economic growth.
Participants have the opportunity to present their work and discuss ideas with the keynote
lecturers and participants in a relaxed and open atmosphere, with plenty of time for interaction
between participants.

Graduate Students and Young Researchers.

after this date regarding the outcome of their application and registration.
If you are interested in presenting your own work, please submit an abstract of your paper (pdf
file) when applying, and send the complete paper to Vincenzo Lombardo at
[email protected] before May 15th, 2014. Papers would be selected by the
scientific committee.
Other perspective participants who are interested in attending the summer school but do not
mean to present a paper are required to send the CV only.
There are two registration fees tracks:
1) General track: there will be a registration fee of 250 € (Euros). Participants are expected to
pay for their airfare and accommodation in Capri, while the Organizers will cover local
expenses, such as lunch, coffee, a social dinner and social events.
2) For applicants to REPOS financial support: there will be a registration fee of 550 € (Euros),
which includes accommodation and other facilities. Only applicants with residence in
Campania Region (Italy) are eligible for Repos Project financial support. For further details

For all the other perspective applicants, limited financial support could be considered and offered,
upon availability of funds.
Applicants are asked to pay the fee within 15 days of acceptance, and no later than May 30th,
2014.
