I love the crisp mornings and the pumpkin spice Frappuccino’s. My family is trying to spend as much time as we can outside before the cold winter begins. The days seem to fly by. Your child(ren) are busy working and collaborating with their classmates. There is so much learning happening each day. I am so proud of how hard they are all working. It was wonderful seeing so many of you at Curriculum Night. The teachers were so excited to share with you all that they are doing in their classrooms and I was equally excited to share all of the great changes that are occurring in the office area and throughout the school. I truly love being a part of this community and can’t thank you enough for being so welcoming. We have been so honored to have Morita Sensei with us for the past month. He came from Japan the weekend before the first day of school and jumped right into teaching. After taking some time to reflect, Morita Sensei has decided that he would like to be in a support role rather than a teaching role so he can spend additional time working on his English and transition to Michigan. We support Morita Sensei and wish him the best. Ai Sensei will now be full time with Niji-Iro and will be teaching 4th grade and Music. 実りの秋となりました。本格的な冬が訪れる前に、過ごしやすい秋を満喫しています。児童たちは一生懸命活動に取り組み、毎日たくさんのことを学んでいます。先日のオープンハウスでは、皆様とお目にかかれてとてもうれしく思っています。新しい校内の様子を見学していただき、また様々な意見交換もでき、有意義な時間を過ごすことができました。森田先生についてお知らせいたします。森田先生は新学期の始まる直前に渡米し、四年生の日本語担当として教科を教えてまいりました。しかし、これからは、教員として教壇に立つのではなく、各学年の補助にまわることになりました。今まで一ヶ月、森田先生が四年生のために尽力してくれたことに感謝し、今年度はまず英語とミシガンの生活に慣れるよう、学校全体で森田先生を応援していきたいと思います。森田先生に代わり、弓場あい先生が音楽と四年生の日本語担当となりましたことを合わせてお知らせいたします。どうかご理解いただけますようお願いいたします。 9  No School 休校 10  Vision Screening 視力検査 Grades K, 1, 3 16  Picture Day 写真撮影 21  Fun Walk ファンウォーク 31  Classroom Halloween Parties ハロウィーンパーティー Our school website will be updated with the additional dates 学校のサイトのカレンダーは更新されますのでをご覧ください Important Announcement Barnes and Noble has requested that we move our activity night to Tuesday, November 25th . Thank you to all the volunteers who have helped so far. We are still in need of the following: 只今１０月３日の秋祭りの準備をしております。ボランティアで協力されている方大変ありがとうございます。引き続きお手伝いしてくださる方を募集しています。 Volunteers Needed：The Fall Festival committee is still looking for more volunteers to watch the booths. The booth will be run by turn, so you will have enough time to walk around the festival with your child. If you are available, please contact the classroom teacher(s). Prizes Needed : As we announced before, the games need prizes. Stationary (pen/pencils/mini notes etc), small items (hair pins/keychain etc), small toys (mini car, sticker etc) if you have extra at home are welcome!! Picture day is October 16 th. Order forms will be coming home and you will have the opportunity to purchase picture packets with various size pictures of your child. These make wonderful gifts. Each child will receive a class picture that will have everyone’s picture on it. These pictures will be used for the yearbook. If you have an opt out note in the office please stop by and cross out the word year book and initial if you would like your child in the class picture and yearbook. The state tests these areas at specific grade levels. All funds collected will go towards funding assemblies and programs, field trips, level library books (Japanese and English), our music program and other valuable assets to our children’s education. ファンウォークは全校児童とスタッフが一緒に歩く３０分のイベントです。集められた募金は、全校集会や行事、遠足、図書（日本語と英語）、音楽活動など児童の教育に関する様々な活動に使われます。 We ask that each student collects $25 in pledges from family members and friends. Please do not send your child door-to-door.
