Hip-hop Is Hot!
Vocabulary
Hip-hop is a popular style of music and fashion. It
started in New York in the 1970s. In the past, most

hip-hop singers came from America. These days,
these days「近ごろは」
countries around the world have their own hip-hop
singers and bands. Fans from Asia to Europe can
listen to fresh new music in their own language.
Young people love to dance to the fast and
exciting music. In fact, some hip-hop songs only
have a few words, but others are full of thoughts
about modern life. Clearly, it’s a style of music with
many different faces.
Along with the music, there are hip-hop clothing
styles. Of course, they’re always changing. From
music videos, magazines, and the Internet, hip-hop
fans can easily find out what’s fresh and hot.
