□ 大前ジャネット氏プロフィール □
米国ペンシルべニア州で育ち、６歳からピアノ、中学からオーボエを習い、ニューイング
ランド音楽大をオーボエ専攻で卒業。大前研一と結婚して在日３６年。１９９２年から邦
楽に転向して、民謡、雅楽、長唄などを学ぶ。藤舎名生に篠笛を師事して、２００１年に
藤舎露生の名を受ける。紀尾井ホールで主催した＜洋楽と邦楽の出会いコンサート＞は、
篠笛、鼓、チェンバロ、ピアノの合奏で原正美の「
『奥の細道』による断章」を初演するな
ど、新作を披露して好評を博す。

Zac Sunderland navigates the world June 22, 2009

Zac Sunderland's quest to circumnavigate the globe solo on his own sailboat is the
story of dreams come true after years of preparations. His year on his boat is drawing
to an end. He departed from Marina del Rey this time last year and now he is making
his way up the Baja coast toward California. He should arrive home any day now. I
have occasionally checked his blog and even downloaded Google Earth to learn more
about this young man who took on the challenge to sail the world alone.
He may have been alone on his boat, but his experience is very different from the days
of Christopher Columbus. With his computer at hand, he has been able to stay in
contact with people on land and take on challenges that would have been impossible
even a generation ago. Watching Google Earth as it hones in on Zac's position is an
amazing reminder that we really do live on a finite planet. We are reminded everyday
that we need to be eco conscious and eco friendly. Keeping our blue planet healthy will
be the biggest challenge of all. Looking at Google Earth is an inspiring way to be
reminded that we are all on this planet together.
