IV-2-1 Convulsive Seizures induced by Pentylentetrazole (PTZ) single injection (Generalized seizure model) Materials ・Glove (for handling the animals) ・Plastic chamber (30 × 30 × 40 cm) ・1 mL syringe and 26 gauge needle (for administration) ・Pentylentetrazole (Sigma-Aldrich) (dissolved in saline at the concentration 4 mg/mL) ・Stopwatch Methods 1. The experiments were performed between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The animals (mice and rats) were placed in a plastic chamber (30 × 30 × 40 cm). 2. After the acclimation, they were injected intraperitoneally (i.p.or s.c.) with the doses of 60 or 80 mg/kg PTZ. 3. The behaviors were observed for 30 min after the administration, classified and scored (Table, Figure).
