Revision 1.0
Introduction
The same kanji can be read differently depending on whether it is alone, combined, or depending on the proceeding kanji.
Important: As a general rule, when a kanji character is by itself we use Kun-Yomi (Japanese) but when it is with other kanji we use On-Yomi
(Chinese). We have put the Chinese meaning first (in Katakana), with the Japanese reading underneath (in Hiragana) e.g. 人 is nin / jin
(Chinese) then hito (Japanese) underneath.
With numbers, the counting system is underneath.
