私たちのボランティア
i-Newsには、翻訳をしたり、定期的に寄稿したりしてくれる、才能あふれるボランティアたちがいま
す。i-Newsは、そのたゆまぬ努力に支えられています。締切が厳しい時には特に助けられています。
その人たちに、今までの経験を聞きました。
i-News is very lucky to have a talented team of volunteers who work hard to translate or regularly contribute
articles. Their hard work is always appreciated, especially when deadlines are tight!! We asked them to tell us

初めてi-Newsのミーティングに参加したのは１５年ほど前になります。当時
はファックスで翻訳した原稿を送っていました。今はパソコンがあれば全て
できます。翻訳を通して、本、考え、違いなどたくさんの新しいことを学ん
でいます。それがこのボランティアを続けている理由です。この記念の号に
こうして感想を書かせていただけて光栄です。ありがとう
ございます。
It was about 15 years ago when I attended an i-News meeting for
the Þrst time. I used to use a FAX machine to send my translation
at that time. Now everything is done with my PC. Books, ideas,
differences: I learn a lot of new things through translation. That is
why I keep doing this. I am honored to be able to write this

訳はその違いを理解する機会を与えてくれるのです。いつも難しくて、とても楽しいです！
I’ve been helping i-News for seven years. Whenever I translate English into Japanese, I struggle to Þnd just the right words to convey the original
meaning. I understand that there are differences in languages and culture. Translation work gives me the
opportunity to understand such differences; that is always challenging, but so much fun for me! Chiyoko Miyazaki 宮崎千代子
i-Newsの記事の中で他の国々や異なる世代の人々に会ったり、世界中を旅したりするこ
とを楽しんでいます。ボランティア活動は日常生活とは違った経験ができ、また新たな
発見もあります。
I enjoy meeting people who are from another countries or different generations, and traveling all
over the world through various articles of i-News. Volunteering gives me new discoveries and
special experiences that are different from my daily life.
