Hello. I’m going to talk about my city. I live in Kofu. It’s in the
middle of Yamanashi. Yamanashi is in the middle of Japan. That means
that Kofu is in the middle of Japan! There are about 190,000 people in
Kofu. It’s not a big city, but there are a lot of nice things here.
For one thing, there are some beautiful mountains near my city. I
can see Mt. Fuji from my house and also from my classroom. Mt. Fuji is
always changing its look. It’s both beautiful and mysterious. Do you
know Shosenkyo? It’s a valley just to the north of Kofu. The views there
are really beautiful. In summer, there are breezes from the river, so it’s
cool and pleasant.
Kofu has a good art museum, too. Do you know Millet? Some of his
paintings are in the museum. I love them ― I think they’ re very moving.
There’s also a lot of good food in Kofu, for example, grapes,
strawberries, and hoto. Do you know hoto? It’s a kind of noodle dish.
There are a lot of vegetables in it. It’s healthy and delicious and I often
have it in winter. I really love it.
For all these reasons, I think Kofu is a great city. Thank you.
