第 6 回 FTPについての説明
英文スクリプト：
Zac : Angela, last night one of our clients e-mailed me saying they had
uploaded a couple of files to their FTP server for me. Can you help me figure
out what to do?
Angela : Sure. First of all, FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, and it allows
users to transfer data files from one computer to another over the internet.
FTP can be really handy when you need to send or receive large files. In your
case, you are going to need some specific software, the FTP address and a
set of login credentials. What kind of files are you supposed to receive, Zac?
Zac : Some videos showcasing the new Carnegie & Smith’s flagship store
downtown. The size of each file would be around 400 mega bites, I presume. I
guess you wouldn't be able to attach that big of a file to an e-mail. Now it
looks like they have given me the URL, an ID and password. So what am I
missing?
Angela : Software. Well I happen to have it right here in my USB memory. Let
me set it up on your PC.

るのよ。
このＦＴＰは大きなファイルを送受信しなければいけない時に本当に便利なの。あな
たの場合は、特定のソフトとＦＴＰアドレスそれからログイン認証が必要になるわね。
ザック、あなたはどんな種類のファイルを受け取る予定なの？
Zac : 都心の新しいカーネギー＆スミスのフラッグシップストアを紹介してるビデオ
だよ。それぞれのファイルはだいたい 400 メガバイトくらいだと思うんだけど。そこま
で大きなファイルはメールには添付できないんじゃない。ＵＲＬとＩＤとパスワードをく
れたみたい。それから、あとは何が必要かな？
Angela : ソフトウェアね。ちょうど私のＵＳＢメモリに入ってるわ。あなたのパソコン
に入れておいてあげる。
