7.4 gm of Kcl was dissolved in I litre of dist., water.
0.25 N Potassium Dichromate solution
12.25 gm of K 2Cr2 0 7 dried at 105°C for 2 hrs, was dissolved in 1 litre of dist.,
water.
0.1 M Ferrous Ammonium Sulphate solution
59.2 gm of FAS was dissolved in 500 ml of dist. water. 20 in! of Sulphuric
acid was added to it and it was diluted to 1000 ml using dist., water.
Potassium Hydrogen Phthalate
425 mg of KHP was dissolved in 1000 ml of dist. water
Ferroin indicator
1.485 gin of 1,10 Phenanthroline Monohydrate and 695 mg of Ferrous
Sulphate (FeSO4 .7H70) were dissolved in 100 ml of dist., water.
Phosphate buffer
8.5 gin of KH 2PO4 , 21.75 gm of K 2HPO4 , 33.4 gin of Na 2HPO4 .7H20 and 1.7
gin of NH4 C1 was dissolved in about 500 ml of dist. water and diluted to 1 L.
Magnesium Sulphate
22.5 gm of MgSO4 .7H20 was dissolved in dist. water and was diluted to 1L.
Calcium Chloride
27.5 gin of CaC1 2 was dissolved in dist. water and diluted to 1L
Ferric Chloride
0.25 gin of FeCI 3 .61470 was dissolved in dist. water and diluted to 1L.
Manganese Sulphate
480 gin of tetrahydrate Manganese Sulphate was dissolved in dist. water
and diluted tol000iyìl.
Alkali Iodide Azide Solution
250 gin of NaOH 67.5 gin of Nal were dissolved in 500 ml and 5gm of
NaN 3 was dissolved in 20 ml of dist. water The two solution were mixed together
and diluted to 1000ml.
Starch solution
0.5 gin
starch powder was dissolved in boiling water and was allowed to
boil for few minutes The boiled solution was kept in a cold place.
Standard Sodium Thiosulphate solution (0.025N)
24.82 gin of Na 2 S0 3 .5H70 was dissolved in 1000 ml .250 ml of this solution
was dissolved in 1000inl dist. water: This solution was preserved adding 2 to 3 ml
of Chloroform.
Digestion reagent for estimation of total Nitrogen
134 gm of Potassium Sulphate in 650 ml of dist. water was dissolved in 200
ml of con. Sulphuric acid. 2 gm of Mercuric Oxide in 25 ml of 6N Sulfuric acid was
added to the above solution and it was diluted to 1000 ml using dist. water.
Sodium hydroxide-Sodium thiosuiphate solution
500 gm of NaOH and 25 gin of Na2S 2 0 3 were dissolved in 1000m! of dist.
water.
Mixed Indicator solution (for TKN)
200 mg of Methyl red in 100 ml of 95% Ethanol and 100 gm of Methylene
blue in 50 ml of 95% Ethanol were mixed together.
Boric Acid reagent
20 gm of Boric Acid was dissolved in 1000 ml of dist. water with addition of
10 ml of mixed indicator.
Sulfuric acid 0.02N
0.1N of sulfuric acid was prepared by diluting 3 ml of con., sulfuric acid to
1000 ml. 20 ml of this solution was further diluted to 100 ml for the preparation of
0.02N HSO4.
Sulfuric acid 5N
70 ml of con. sulfuric acid was diluted to 500 ml using dist., water.
Potassium antimonyl tartarate
1.372 gm of Potassium antirnonyl tartarate was dissolved in 400 ml of dist.
water and it was made up to 500 ml in a volumetric flask.
Ascorbic Acid
1.76 ml of Ascorbic acid was dissolved in 100 ml of dist. water
Ammonium Molybdate solution
20 gm of Ammonium molybdate was dissolved in 500 ml of dist. water.
Methyl Orange
0.5 ml of methyl orange was dissolved in 100 ml of dist. water.
0. IN Sodium Hydroxide
4 gm of Sodium Hydroxide was dissolved in 1000 ml of dist. water.
Potassium Chromate indicator solution
50 gm of Potassium chromate was dissolved in 1000ml of dist. water. Silver
nitrate solution 0.0141N was added to it till the red precipitate was formed. This
solution was allowed to stand for 12 hrs. and then it was filtered through, filter
paper. The filtrate solution was used as indicator.
Silver Nitrate solution 0.014N
2.395 gm of silver nitrate solution was dissolved in double dist. water and it
was diluted to 1000ml. This solution was standardized against 0.014N sodium
chloride.
Standard Sodium Chloride solution
824.1 mg of NaC1 dried at 140°C was dissolved in 1000 ml of dist. water.
Buffer solution
30 gin of magnesium chloride, 5 gm of sodium acetate, 1 gin of potassium
nitrate and 20 ml of acetic acid was dissolved in 500 ml of distilled water and
diluted to 1000 ml.
