Ithaca Seminar (ICSM 10500, 10800, 11000, 11800) All Ithaca College students will begin their ICC coursework by enrolling in a 4 credit Ithaca College Seminar. This is an interdisciplinary liberal arts
course that supports students’ academic and social transition to Ithaca College.

COMPLEMENTARY LIBERAL ARTS
QUANTITATIVE LITERACY (QL) READINESS
Minimum of 12 credits. Determined by student’s program/major/school.
QL readiness is achieved by a QL readiness score of 9 or above on the Math Placement/QL Exam or
by a passing grade in a 100 Level Math course.
WRITING COMPETENCY (3 credits)
Must be met by all students before taking a Writing Intensive course.
CAPSTONE/E-PORTFOLIO
Writing Competency is achieved by fulfilling one of the following:
WRTG 10600/transfer equivalent OR
ICSM with a 108xx or 118xx designation OR
AP credit (4,5)
English Language & Composition OR English Literature & Composition
ATTRIBUTES:
Some programs/majors specify specific courses for the CLA.
Students in H & S may fulfill through a minor, a second major, a foreign language sequence,
or a self-designed suite of courses.
CAPSTONE (CP) 0-4 credits
Capstone will be in the student’s major and determined by the program.
E-PORTFOLIO 0 credits — artifacts from ICC courses
Must take one each of QL, WI, DV designated course.
Attributes MAY be fulfilled by courses in a student’s Major or Minor, by Electives or by Perspectives courses.
A course may be applied to more than one attribute.

Writing Intensive (WI)
QL score of 9 or above on the Math Competency/
QL Exam or a passing grade in a 100 level math
