Medford, Ore. -- The Hyatt Lake Recreation Area will close its main campground and boat ramps for the season on September 30, 2010. The Wildcat Campground and Equestrian Camp will remain open until October 31, 2010. Boaters will be able to use the unimproved shoreline at Wildcat Campground for boat launching.
Medford, Ore. -- The Bureau of Land Management's Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument is hosting National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 25, 2010. In honor of the recent designation of the Soda Mountain Wilderness, this year's theme will is "Rewilding the Wilderness." It will also celebrate the 10th anniversaries of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument and the National Landscape Conservation System.
Medford, Ore. -- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced June 25th, 2010 that the Mule Creek Bridge, on BLM Road 32-9-14.2, has been closed to vehicular traffic until further notice. The Mule Creek Bridge accesses Marial Lodge and provides a crossing for the Rogue River Trail on the Rogue River near Marial and the Rogue River Ranch west of Merlin, Oregon.
Medford, Ore. -- Anticipating help from Jackson County, the State of Oregon Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), as well as the angling community, the Medford District Bureau of Land Management plans to open the Hyatt Lake boat ramps and parking lot on April 25. The volunteers will help with the patrol of the campground and lake while the BLM will install a portable toilet and plow the ramp and parking areas.
Medford, Ore. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will host an Open House in Medford on Thursday, October 16, 2014, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Medford Interagency Office, 3040 Biddle Road. BLM specialists will discuss the proposed Resource Management Plan (RMP) amendment and associated environmental assessment that would change the existing boundary of the Table Rocks Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) and Management Area.
Medford, OR -- A citizen's Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) will provide advice and recommendations on BLM and public-sponsored project proposals at the upcoming RAC meeting to be held on August 10, 2011. The RAC will review and concur on Fiscal Year 2012 Title II projects designed to benefit the lands and programs of the Medford District in Curry, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Jackson counties.
Medford, OR - Wildflowers are beginning to show their color, vernal pools are buzzing with life, spring time is returning to the southern Oregon landscape, and it is once again time for the annual spring Table Rocks weekend hike series! The Nature Conservancy and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) are offering their annual guided, educational walks on the Table Rocks in April and May. This popular hike series promises a spectacular view of the valley, an abundance of wildflowers, and expert interpretation from specialists on the natural and cultural history of the area. Anyone from the community is welcome to sign up. There is no fee to participate, but reservations are required.
