You’re always welcome to join us by the fireplace in Fireside for a tasty meal and a belly-warming adult beverage. We are back to our former hours of operation and open seven days a week; Mondays through Saturdays, 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you haven’t seen or tried our new lunch, dinner and pub menus, stop in, you’re in for a treat. For those of you who couldn’t make it, we had a great Annual All Member Meeting on Friday, January 23rd. We discussed the new membership classifications as well as the savings you will all benefit from in 2015. Memberships are now based on a rolling-twelve month schedule. Stop by the lobby to pick up our new rate sheet and we encourage you to share it with your friends, family and work associates. Don't forget, every member you bring us earns you $100! We also covered the pool rules and opening day, which is Saturday, May 23rd, distributed the member handbook and discussed golf lessons being provided by our Non-Resident PGA Golf Professional, Jim Wise. We distributed the first half of the calendar of events for 2015 and announced that we will have a Prospective Member Open House on Sunday, March 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. We ask that you tell everyone you know about this great event and that we will be offering complimentary appetizers and will be giving away a FREE one year, all-inclusive membership to one lucky attendee. Please keep an eye on your email for information on all of these great items and topics. If you don’t receive email from the Club and want to, log onto www.RusticHills.com and click the button on the homepage that reads “join our email list for news and events.” Rustic Hills will be hosting a booth at the Cleveland North Coast Golf Show at the IX Center February 20th through the 22nd. If you’re a golfer and interested in helping recruit new members at our booth, please email me at [email protected]. We are aiming to sign up at least 50 new memberships this year and now is the time of year that we go full-throttle in our member recruiting efforts. When it comes to selling the club and signing members, we have one of the greatest tools to help close deals: YOU! I want to thank the members for always helping to make our prospective members and banquet guests feel warm, welcome and part of the Rustic Hills Family. You really are our greatest asset. As always, we encourage you to spread the word about the Club to everyone you know who might be even slightly interested in membership or hosting an event at the Club. Thanks again! From Fireside Lounge By Karen Uhas-Reynolds, Food & Beverage Manager Greetings from the frozen tundra… We’re one month into 2015, and pool season can’t come quick enough! Chef Marc has rolled out his new menu, and if you haven’t had a chance to come in and try it, I highly suggest you do! We offer a lunch menu, a dinner menu, and a pub menu for the bar. We have received numerous compliments already, and I know the staff is thrilled with it. (When you eat here 5 days a week, we were like rabid dogs.) We still offer specials as well. You may miss some of the old items, but they may return as the weather warms up and certain foods come back into season. Thank you for your patience as Marc got his staff in order and had the time after the holidays to put together a menu that he is proud of and that we are equally proud to serve. So, onto February…Look for the return of our Friday Fish Fry Specials for Lent. And right before you give up everything that is decadent and fun for Lent, (I’m giving up mushrooms) Fat Tuesday is February 17th this year. So I’m going to run a little contest. The official colors of Mardi Gras are purple, green and gold. I want to know what each color means. The first person to email me with the correct answers will win my admiration. Oh, and a $25 gift card to The Fireside Restaurant. You can email me at [email protected]. Also in February, we are going to offer a beer dinner Friday, Feb. 27th. We will be showcasing beers from a great brewery out of Kansas City called Boulevard Brewery. Stay tuned. On a sad note, our long time employee, Rose Geith, has decided to leave Rustic Hills. After close to 19 years of service here, she has decided it’s time to spend more time with her husband, Bill. Rose has worked in Fireside (then referred to as The Members Lounge) starting with day shift then moving to evenings a few years ago. To say she will be missed is a huge understatement. She has been a “lifer” in this business, which any more is hard to find. Rose is one of those rare employees that you never have to worry about. You know she’s going to show up, be on time, do her job and more. She is one of the kindest individuals I have met and I can’t imagine Rustic Hills without her. Her last day will be Valentine’s Day, but she has graciously offered (not without some pleading and begging from me) to pick up some shifts while I am on vacation in March. Please congratulate her when you see her, and thank her. As always, our fireplace awaits… Karen February 2015 Sun Tue Mon 2 9 16 **Cancellations** Cancellation of any Club-sponsored social event requires a 48-hour verbal notice to club management, or written notice to [email protected]. Both Jason and I are really proud of the dishes we’ve created and the initial response from members and customers has been extremely positive. So thank you. If you haven’t had a chance to get in and try our new offerings, take the time to brave the weather and check us out. We have made an extensive overhaul to the menu and added a lot of new and exciting dishes as well as bringing back some old favorites. I look forward to seeing you all real soon. Club Open House Sunday, March 8 1:00-3:00pm Introduce your friends & neighbors to the Club for RHCC Membership. Don't forget, every member you bring us earns you $100! Hopefully everyone is surviving the cold weather and finding some warm indoor activities to keep busy. I like to keep warm by thinking warm- which for me means outdoor ceremonies, wedding photos with green trees and sunny skies, poolside member events and of course, gazebo graduation parties. As members, you get free room rental and 5% off of your food and beverage packages if you charge the party to your account. Why not enjoy the time with your family and let the Rustic Hills staff take care of everything else? I know not too many of you have kids graduating this year-but if you have friends or family looking for a place to host a graduation party send them my way. For every graduation party a member sends me, they will receive a $50 credit to their account. On another note, I wanted to thank everyone who came to the Annual Member Meeting on the 23rd. Your support and interest in your club is what makes it fun for the staff to plan events throughout the year. I hope everyone is happy with the new membership packages and the calendar of events for the first half of the year. If you have suggestions for events or any other ideas you want to share, my door is always open or you can email me at [email protected].
