Pure Maple Syrup

Pure Maple Syrup
Anderson's Maple Syrup, Inc. has been a family run and organized
business for over 80 years. Steve Anderson is the third generation
Anderson to carry on the family tradition. Steve's grandfather Paul
Anderson started the business in the early 20's as just a little hobby
to put some syrup on the table. When Norman Anderson, Steve's
Father was old enough to help out he and Paul started to make the
business grow.
In the mid 30's they began by selling their entire year's supply of
syrup to Hove's, which would later become Lunds and is now part of
the Lunds-Byerly's chains. They eventually added other routes that
took them through parts of Wisconsin and into Northern Minnesota.
In the late 40's they both decided that there was a greater
opportunity to be had in the maple syrup business than in farming.
Even though that may sound impressive, Anderson's Maple Syrup has a very small staff. The
bottling and delivery of Anderson's Maple Syrup is mostly done by Steve Anderson and Fred
Buchholz, the company's long time employee and friend. Norman Anderson still plays an important
role as mentor and basic overseeing of what is going on with the company. Other help, such as
paper work and other odds and ends are is provided by Steve's mother Janice Anderson as well as
his wife, Alison.
My Anderson’s Maple
My Anderson's Maple is an opportunity for you, your family or friend to get
to know a real, live Sugar Maple tree in the Wisconsin Northwoods and
become part of a sustainable family tradition.
This year-long program features a ready-to-frame, letter-pressed Certificate
of Adoption which provides the GPS location and specific background on an
adopted tree.
For maple syrup lovers, don't forget Anderson's Pure Maple Syrup made
from your adopted tree and others in our surrounding sugarbush. Along
with a Certificate of Adoption, the "My Anderson's Maple" gift box contains
a bottle of maple syrup, pancake mix, and maple popcorn.
Finally, for every "My Anderson's Maple" purchase, a donation goes to
plant a tree in America's forests which will help restore areas damaged
by wildfire, where critical wildlife habitat has been lost, and to clean
our air and water. Our family is proud of its ecologically sustainable
tradition and is committed to forest conservation and environmental
stewardship.
Become a part of the proud maple syruping heritage of Wisconsin's
Northwoods. The sugar maple is the Wisconsin State Tree and every
March 15th to April 15th is proclaimed Maple Syrup Month by
Wisconsin governors. When people think of Pure Maple Syrup, they
may think of Vermont, but Wisconsin is the 4th largest producing state
in the country and we want to make sure people know our syrup is just
as good as the Vermont syrup -- and probably even a little better!
Wholesale Buyers
If quality, service, and a truly American product are what you need, then Anderson's Maple Syrup
and our 80 years of quality will give you just that. We take our process one step further than most
syrup packagers. While many reheat syrup to a minimum temperature to package it, we bring every
batch, bulk, or retail pack sizes to a boil. This extra step costs us valuable time, but we feel it's a
necessary step to bring you and your customers the finest
quality syrup. This re-boiling not only guarantees us a
properly packaged and sealed container, but it also brings
back some of the freshness that pure maple syrup can
lose after months of storage.
Grade B maple syrup is sold only in one and five gallon
jugs, but can be packed in larger quantities upon request.
This is darker colored syrup and has a much stronger
flavor than grade a maple syrup. It is best used as a
sweetener in cooking and whenever you want a very
strong maple flavor to come through in.
Depending on the time of season and weather conditions maple syrup will turn out to be different
grades even though it was boiled down exactly the same way. The light colored syrups are grade A
and the darker colored and stronger flavored syrups are Grade B. Grade B is great as a cooking
additive to sweeten up many different foods. Some people even enjoy the stronger flavor with their
pancakes and waffles. Some studies have shown that Grade B maple syrup has slightly more
nutritional value than its Grade counterparts. The stronger flavor and greater nutritional value have
made Grade B maple syrup an excellent additive for many different diets over the years and may be
just what you have been looking for.
