Nin - priča koja traje…
Nin je najstariji hrvatski kraljevski grad. Ali ne živi od stare slave.
Prošlost i sadašnjost idu ovdje ruku pod ruku. Nin je dalmatinski gradić ugodan za život i prekrasan za odmor. Kažu da skriva najmanju
katedralu na svijetu i jednu od najljepših svjetskih plaža. Ovdje se dolazi radi odmora i rekreacije. Nin nudi zabavu, vraća zdravlje, energiju
i samopouzdanje. Nin je europska destinacija izvrsnosti.
I još toliko toga isprepleteno je u njegovoj prošlosti i sadašnjosti, onome
što je darovala priroda i što je učinio čovjek. Nin ima priču! Dokazi su
nepobitni: život ovdje traje tisućljećima. A dan traje duže. Ne vjerujete
li, provjerite – imamo dokaze… itekoliko dokaza!
NAJSTARIJI HRVATSKI KRALJEVSKI GRAD
Dokaz prvi:
bogata riznica
Sve u Ninu – turističkom središtu smještenom u
Zadarskoj županiji - odiše poviješću i slavnom tradicijom utkanom u život ovoga kraja i Hrvatske.
Nin je najstariji hrvatski kraljevski grad, kolijevka
je hrvatske države i zovu ga hrvatski Betlehem.
O njegovoj prošlosti govore mnogi odlično očuvani spomenici kulture, posebice starohrvatske
crkvice iz 9. i 11. stoljeća, jedinstvene ne samo
u Hrvatskoj nego i na širem području Mediterana. Predromanička crkva sv. Križa iz 9. stoljeća,
zvana najmanja katedrala na svijetu, duga je
svega 36 koraka. Jedan je od ninskih simbola i
romantična crkvica sv. Nikole s kraja 11. stoljeća
koja se povezuje s narodnom predajom o krunidbi hrvatskih kraljeva. U Muzeju ninskih starina
izložena je kopija krstionice kneza Višeslava iz
9. stoljeća te dva originalna rekonstruirana starohrvatska broda - Condura Croatica iz 11. stoljeća i replika Serillie Liburnice iz 1. stoljeća. Oba su
pronađena na području Nina i dokaz su njegove
sudbinske veze s morem.
I mnogo je još toga što ovdje vrijedi vidjeti… Iz antičkih su vremena vidljivi ostaci Donjih gradskih
vrata, najvećeg rimskoga hrama na istočnoj obali
Jadrana, mozaika iz 2. st. kao i ostaci stambenih jedinica u središtu grada. Po ostacima zidina s istočne strane naslućuje se značaj srednjovjekovnoga
Nina. U blizini je Gornjih gradskih vrata i crkve sv.
Ambroza (13. st.) uređen spomen-park pjesniku Petru Zoraniću Ninjaninu. U središtu grada se nalazi
župna crkva sv. Anselma (6.−18. st.), nekadašnja
prva katedrala u Hrvata, u kojoj se čuva čudotvorni

kip Gospe od Zečeva. Zavirite i u Riznicu crkvene
umjetnosti Zlato i srebro grada Nina.
Nin je poznat i po spomenicima nekima od njegovih slavnih ljudi . U gradu je postavljen brončani kip biskupa Grgura Ninskog – dotaknete li
mu nožni palac, kaže predaja, vaša će želja biti
ispunjena. I ne čudi stoga što je palac izlizan od
dodira jer u Ninu iz godine u godinu raste broj gostiju. Stanovnici Nina spomenikom su zabilježili
osobit trenutak u životu svake zemlje te se odužili knezu Branimiru za čijeg je vremena Hrvatska
7. lipnja 879. godine dobila prvo međunarodno
priznanje – blagoslov Pape Ivana VIII…U spomen
na taj dan Nin slavi dan svojega grada, a zemlja
Dan hrvatske diplomacije.
Jesmo li rekli sve što je trebalo o povijesti i njezinim spomenicima?! Ni izbliza…bogata ninska
riznica idealna je za istraživanje! Jer, mnogo je tu
spomenika, mnogo priča, legendi i vjerovanja….
Dokaz drugi:
bogati darovi prirode
Nin se nalazi usred jedinstvene plitke lagune, a
njegova je starogradska jezgra na malom otočiću promjera 500 metara. Svega je 14 kilometara
udaljen od Zadra. Njegove su pješčane plaže nezaboravne te su s razlogom uvrštene u sam vrh
najljepših na svijetu.
Nin je i grad soli koja je bila izvorom bogatstva
grada u dugoj povijesti. Solana – koja proizvodnju
temelji na tisućljetnoj tradiciji proizvodnje u ninskoj laguni - otvorena je za turiste. Tu, na licu mje-
sta, saznat ćete sve o procesu dobivanja soli koji
je potpuno isti kao u rimsko doba. Iz toga su vremena u Parku solana još očuvani ostaci kamenih
vrata koja su propuštala morsku vodu u bazene,
ali i zanimljiv svijet ptica i specifičnoga morskog
života prilagođenog specifičnosti ovoga prostora.
Ninska se sol, zahvaljujući čistom okolišu,
velikom broju sunčanih dana,
pogodnom vjetru i izuzetnom
geografskom položaju, ubraja među najkvalitetnije u
Europi i svijetu. I, pouzdano znamo, poslije ove posjete svako
vaše sljedeće posezanje za ovim važnim dodatkom
svakom dobrom jelu odvest će vas u
mislima – gdje drugdje – nego li u Nin…
Mnogi ovdje dolaze u potrazi za zdravljem.
Naime, u blizini prekrasne Kraljičine plaže
lokalitet je s ljekovitim blatom (peloid) koje se
već više od 40 godina uspješno koristi u liječenju
reumatskih bolesti, deformacija kralježnice, problema lokomotornog sustava, ženske neplodnosti i raznih kožnih oboljenja. Terapija se provodi u
ugodnom prirodnomu ambijentu, a njezine učinke pojačava kupanje i plivanje u toplomu moru.
Izgradnja modernog rekreacijsko-turističkog centra korak je dalje…
Dokaz treći:
tradicija!
Nematerijalna tradicijska baština utkana je u ninsku svakodnevicu. I oni zajedno žive dajući vašoj
sadašnjosti mogućnost romantičnog bijega i posezanja za svevremenskim vrijednostima. Ukazanje Gospe od Zečeva s tradicijskim hodočašćem
na obližnji otok Zečevo s brodicama i pješice temelji se na zanimljivoj priči koja vas vremeplovom
vraća na sam početak 16. stoljeća. Gospa se 1516.
godine ukazala pastirici udovici Jeleni, iskazala
poruku za puk te je ukazanje Gospin kip potvrdio
suzama. Od tada do danas štuje se Gospino ukazanje. Turci su u znak odmazde zbog pretrpljenog
poraza u Ninu, na obližnjem otočiću zapalili crkvu

i samostan, poubijali redovnike te odnijeli
kip Gospin. Oni su ga, kaže legenda, bacili
u more, a Gospa je sama „doplivala“ u Nin.
Jedinstvena procesija kojom se Gospin kip brodicama prenosi na otok nezaboravan je događaj
za mještane i goste…
možete vidjeti čak stotinjak usidrenih ručno izrađenih brodova. A kad dođete, ne zaboravite i gastronomski užitak – šokol. Ninski šokol autohtoni
je ninski suhomesnati proizvod za čiju su kvalitetu uz meso zaslužne i specifičnosti podneblja
- kuhano crno vino, mirodije, sol i bura. Izvorni
recept šokola – kojemu je posvećena i manifestacija Ninska šokolijada – u obiteljima se posebno
čuva i prenosi samo usmenom predajom. Obiteljske tajne u njegovu pripravljanju nisu vam dostupne, ali šokol jeste. Dobar tek!

Nin - The Story that endures...
NAJSTARIJI HRVATSKI KRALJEVSKI GRAD
Nin is the oldest Croatian royal city. But it does not live only from
its former glory. The past and the present go hand in hand. Nin is a
Dalmatian city in which it is pleasant to live and which is beautiful
for a vacation. It is said that Nin has the smallest cathedral in the
world and one of its most beautiful beaches. People come here for
a vacation and recreation. Nin offers fun; it restores health, energy
and self-confidence. Nin is the European destination of excellence.
And so much of this is woven into its past and present, into what nature has provided and what man has made. Nin has its story! The
proofs are irrefutable: they have endured for a thousand years. But
the day lasts longer.

The first proof:
A rich treasury
Everything in Nin – a tourist center situated in Zadar
County – breathes history and a glorious tradition
woven into the life of this region and of Croatia.
Nin is the oldest Croatian royal city, the cradle
of the Croatian state, and it is also known as the
Croatian Bethlehem.
Nin’s many well-preserved cultural monuments
testify to its past, especially the Old Croatian
churches from the 9th and 11th centuries. They
are unique not only in Croatia, but also throughout the Mediterranean. The pre-Romanesque
Church of the Holy Cross from the 9th century,
known as the smallest cathedral in the world, is
all of 36 paces long. The romantic Church of St.
Nicholas, dating from the 11th century, is also
one of the symbols of Nin and is connected by
popular tradition to the coronation of Croatia’s
kings. The Museum of Nin Antiquities displays a
copy of the 9th century baptismal font of Prince
Višeslav and two original, reconstructed Old
Croatian boats – the Condura Croatica from the
11th century and a replica of the Serillia Libur-

nica from the 1st century. They were
both found in the area of Nin and are
proof of the town’s close connection
with the sea.
And there is still so much more to
see. From ancient times the remains
of the Lower Gates of the city are visible, then there is the largest Roman
temple on the eastern side of the
Adriatic, a mosaic from the 2nd century, and the remains of residential
dwellings in the center of the city.
The remains of the walls on the eastern side of the city demonstrate the
importance of medieval Nin. Nearby
are the Upper Gates of the city and
the Church of St. Ambrose (13th
century) and the memorial park
dedicated to the poet Petar Zoranić
Ninjanin. In the center of the city is the parish
church of St. Anselm (6th−18th centuries), once
the first cathedral in Croatia, which houses the
miraculous statue of Our Lady of Zečevo. Also,
take a peek into the Treasury of Sacred Art, The
Gold and Silver of the City of Nin.
Nin is also known for its monuments to some of its
famous people. There is a bronze statue to Bishop Gregory of Nin. According to tradition, if you
touch his big toe, your wish will be granted. And
it is no wonder that the toe has been worn down
by touching because the number of visitors to Nin
has grown year by year. The residents of Nin have
memorialized a special moment in the life of every country for which they are indebted to Prince
Branimir, during whose reign – 7 June 879 – Croatia received its first international recognition,
the blessing of Pope John VIII. The city celebrates
this date as the Day of Nin, while the country celebrates it as the Day of Croatian Diplomacy.
Have we said everything there is to say about
the history of Nin and its monuments? Not

The second proof:
The rich gifts of nature
Nin is located in the middle of a shallow lagoon.
The core of the old city is situated on a small island
that is 500 meters in diameter. It is 14 kilometers
from Zadar. Nin’s sand beaches are unforgettable and they are understandably included
among the world’s most beautiful.
Nin is also the city of salt, which has been the
source of the city’s wealth throughout its history.
The salt works – which produces salt based on
a thousand-year tradition – is open to tourists.
Here, right at its source, you will learn everything about the production of salt that is exactly the same as in Roman times. The park of the
salt works contains the still-preserved remains
of the Roman-era stones gates that let seawater
into the basin, but you can also learn about the
fascinating world of birds and the unique marine
life that has adapted to the specific characteristics of this area. Thanks to the clean environment,
the many sunny days, the pleasant breeze and
Nin’s exceptional geographic position, Nin salt
is counted among the highest quality salts in
Europe and around the world. And, we know for
certain that after this visit, each time you reach for
this important addition to every good meal, your
thoughts will turn – where else – but to Nin.
Many people come here to improve their health.
In the vicinity of the beautiful Kraljičina beach is
a site with medicinal mud (peloid) that has been
used for more than 40 years to treat rheumatic
diseases, deformations of the spine, problems
with the locomotive system, infertility, and various skin ailments. The therapies are carried out in
a pleasant natural ambience and their effects are
enhanced by swimming or bathing in the warm

Tradition
A non-materialistic traditional heritage has been
woven into the patterns of Nin’s everyday life.
And together they give your present the possibility of a romantic escape and of reaching out
for eternal values. The appearance of Our Lady
of Zečevo, commemorated with a traditional pilgrimage on foot and by boat to the nearby island
of Zečevo, is based on an interesting story that
goes back to the beginning of the 16th century.
In 1516, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a
widowed shepherd woman named Jelena and
gave her a message for the people. Our Lady’s
appearance was confirmed by the tears that appeared on her statue. In revenge for a defeat that
they had suffered at Nin, the Turks burned down
the church and monastery on the nearby island,
killed the priests, and carried off the statue of the
Blessed Virgin. According to legend, they threw it
into the sea, but the Blessed Virgin “swam” to Nin.
The unique procession that carries the statue of
the Blessed Virgin to the island by small boats is an
unforgettable event for residents and guests alike.
Another living tradition is, of course, the Nin kaić,
a wooden boat with a special appearance whose
construction is handed down within families
orally. How does it look? Instead of a description, an invitation: in the harbor of Nin you can
see a hundred hand-made boats at anchor. And
when you come, do not forget a gastronomic delight– šokol. Nin šokol is an authentic dried meat
product whose quality is based on the meat used
and on specialties of the region – mulled wine,
spices, salt and the north wind know as the bura.
The original recipe for šokol – to which a special
Nin event known as the šokolijada is devoted –
is closely guarded within families and is only
passed on orally. The family secrets in its preparation are not available to you, but the šokol itself
is. Bon appetite!

Nin - eine Geschichte ohne Ende …
Nin ist die älteste kroatische Königsstadt, die sich aber
nicht auf ihren Lorbeeren ausruht. Die Vergangenheit
und die Gegenwart gehen hier Hand in Hand. Nin ist ein
dalmatinisches Städtchen, angenehm zum Leben und wunderschön für einen Urlaub. Man sagt, es birgt die kleinste Kathedrale der Welt und einen der schönsten Strände
weltweit. Hierher kommt man, um Urlaub zu machen, um
sich zu erholen. Nin bietet Unterhaltung, gibt Gesundheit,
Energie und Selbstbewusstsein zurück. Die Stadt zählt zu
den herausragenden europäischen Reisezielen (European
Destinations of Excellence). Und noch Vieles mehr ist in
seiner Vergangenheit und seiner Gegenwart ineinander

Beweis Nr. 1: ungewöhnlich

In Nin, dem in der Gespanschaft Zadar gelegenen touristischen Zentrum, verspürt man
auf Schritt und Tritt den Geist der Vergangenheit und ruhmvollen Tradition, die das Leben
dieser Region und des Landes durchdringen.
Nin ist die älteste kroatische Königsstadt, die
Wiege des kroatischen Staates, bekannt auch
unter der Bezeichnung kroatisches Bethlehem.
Von seiner Vergangenheit zeugen zahlreiche
hervorragend erhaltene Kulturdenkmäler,
insbesondere das altkroatische Kirchlein
aus dem 9. und 11. Jahrhundert, einzigartig nicht nur in Kroatien sondern auch im
breiten Mittelmeerraum. Die vorromanische
Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche aus dem 9. Jahrhundert,
die als kleinste Kathedrale der Welt bezeichnet wird, ist nur 36 Schritte lang. Zu den
Symbolen Nins zählt auch das romantische
Kirchlein des hl. Nikolaus vom Ende des 11.
Jahrhunderts, das mit der Legende über die
Krönung kroatischer Könige in Verbindung
gebracht wird. Im Niner Altertumsmuseum
sind eine Kopie des Taufbeckens des Fürsten
Višeslav aus dem 9. Jahrhundert sowie zwei
restaurierte original-altkroatische Schiffe zu
besichtigen - die Condura Croatica aus dem
11. Jahrhundert und eine Replik der Serillia
Liburnica aus dem 1. Jahrhundert. Beide wurden im
Raum von Nin aufgefunden und zeugen von seiner schicksalhaften Verbindung mit dem Meer.
Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten
wären hier noch zu erwähnen… Die aus der Antike
stammenden
Überreste
des unteren Stadttores,
des größten römischen Tempels an der östlichen Adriaküs-

te, des Mosaiks aus dem 2. Jahrhundert sowie
die Überreste von Wohnobjekten im Zentrum
der Stadt. Die Überreste der Stadtmauer an
der östlichen Seite deuten auf die Bedeutung
von Nin im Mittelalter hin. Unweit des oberen
Stadttores und der Kirche des hl. Ambrosius
(13. Jh.) wurde ein Denkmal-Park zu Ehren des
Dichters Petar Zoranić Ninjanin eingerichtet.
Im Zentrum erhebt sich die Pfarrkirche des hl.
Anselmus (6 - 18 Jh.), einst die erste Kathedrale der Kroaten, in der die wundertätige Statue
der Muttergottes von Zečevo aufbewahrt wird.

Nin ist auch wegen zahlreicher Denkmäler
bekannt, die einigen seiner berühmten Persönlichkeiten gewidmet wurden. Darunter die
Bronzestatue des Bischofs Gregorius von Nin
(Grgur Ninski) - berühren Sie seinen Zeh, wird
Ihr Wunsch in Erfüllung gehen, so die Legende.
In Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass die Gästezahl
in Nin von Jahr zu Jahr steigt, überrascht es
nicht, dass sein Zeh von den vielen Berührungen schon blank gerieben ist. Mit einem Denkmal würdigten die Einwohner von Nin einen
besonderen Moment im Leben eines jeden
Landes und brachten ihren Dank dem Fürsten
Branimir zum Ausdruck, zu dessen Zeiten Kroatien am 7. Juni 879 die erste internationale
Anerkennung bekommen hat – den Segen von
Papst Johannes VIII… Zum Gedenken an diesen Tag feiert Nin den Tag der Stadt Nin, und
das Land den Tag der kroatischen Diplomatie.
Haben wir alles gesagt, was über die Geschichte und ihre Denkmäler zu sagen ist?! Kaum…
die ungewöhnlich reiche Schatzkammer von
Nin ist geradezu ideal, um erforscht zu werden! Zahlreiche Denkmäler, viele Geschichten,
Legenden und Überlieferungen…….
Beweis Nr. 2: zahlreiche
Geschenke der Natur
Nin liegt inmitten einer einzigartigen seichten Lagune; der antike Stadtkern befindet
sich auf einer kleinen Insel, 500 m im Durchmesser, nur 14 km von Zadar entfernt.
Seine unvergesslichen Sandstrände zählen
zu den schönsten Stränden weltweit.
Nin ist auch als Salzstadt bekannt; Salz war
die Quelle des Reichtums der Stadt in ihrer
langen Geschichte. Das Salzwerk, das seine
Produktion auf der Jahrtausend alten Tradition der Salzproduktion in der Lagune von Nin
stützt, ist auch für Touristen geöffnet. Hier,
vor Ort, erfahren Sie alles über das Verfahren der Salzgewinnung, das von römischen
Zeiten kaum geändert wurde. Aus dieser Zeit
werden im Salinepark noch Überreste der
steinernen Tore aufbewahrt, durch die Meereswasser in die Becken geleitet wurde, aber
auch eine interessante Vogelwelt und eine
spezifische Meeresflora und -fauna, die sich
den Besonderheiten dieses Raums anzupassen wussten. Das Salz aus Nin zählt wegen
der sauberen Umwelt, der vielen Sonnentage, der günstigen Winde und der außerordentlichen geographischen Lage zum besten
Salz in Europa und weltweit. Und wir sind fest
davon überzeugt, dass Sie, wenn Sie nach

Viele kommen hierher auf der Suche nach
Gesundheit. Unweit des wunderschönen Königinnen-Strandes (Kraljičina plaža) liegt ein
Strand mit Heilschlamm (Peloid), der schon

Das nichtmaterielle Traditionserbe ist fester
Bestandteil des Alltagslebens in Nin, deren
Zusammenleben ein romantisches Entweichen aber auch einen Zugriff auf ewige Werte
ermöglicht. Die Erscheinung der Muttergottes
von Zečevo mit einer traditionellen Pilgerfahrt
zur nahe gelegenen Insel Zečevo, mit Booten
und zu Fuß, beruhen auf einer interessanten
Geschichte, die uns in die ersten Jahre des
16. Jahrhunderts zurückführt, als sich 1516
die Muttergottes der Hirtin und Witwe Jelena
zeigte, ihr eine Botschaft für das Volk mitteilte
und die Erscheinung durch die weinende Statue der Muttergottes bescheinigen ließ. Bis
zum heutigen Tage noch wird die Erscheinung
der Muttergottes gefeiert und gewürdigt. Als
Rachezug für ihre Niederlage in Nin haben die
Türken auf der nahe gelegenen Insel die Kirche und das Kloster in Brand gesetzt, Mönche
umgebracht und die Statue der Muttergottes
mitgenommen. Einer Legende zufolge haben

sie die Statue ins Meer geworfen, wonach die
Statue wieder nach Nin «zurückgeschwommen» ist. Die einzigartige Prozession, bei der
die Statue der Muttergottes in Boten zu der
kleinen Insel gebracht wird, ist ein unvergessliches Ereignis, nicht nur für die dortigen Einwohner sondern auch für die Gäste….
Eine Tradition, die weiter lebt, ist auch der so
genannte «ninski kaić», ein besonderes Holzboot, dessen Bauweise in den mündlichen Familienüberlieferungen lebt. Wie sieht das Boot
aus? Statt einer Beschreibung, eine Einladung:
im Hafen von Nin können Sie sogar hunderte
solcher handgefertigter Boote sehen. Wenn Sie
kommen, vergessen Sie die gastronomischen
Genüsse nicht; wir empfehlen «šokol», ein
autochthones Trockenfleischerzeugnis, das
seine Qualität neben den Besonderheiten des
Klimas auch dem Rotwein, den aromatischen
Zusätzen, dem Salz und der Bora verdankt. Das
Originalrezept von «šokol», dem auch die Veranstaltung «Ninska šokolijada» gewidmet ist,
wird in den Familien als besonderes Geheimnis
gehütet und nur durch mündliche Überlieferung weitergegeben. Zu den Familiengeheimnissen in Bezug auf seine Zubereitung haben
Sie keinen Zugang, zu «šokol», aber schon. Guten Appetit!

Nin - la storia che dura...
Nona (Nin in croato) è la città regale più vecchia della Croazia.
Ma questa città non vive solo delle vecchie glorie. Il passato ed il
presente qui camminano di pari passo. Nona è una città della Dalmazia comoda per la vita quotidiana e ottima per il riposo. Dicono
che abbia la cattedrale più piccola ed una delle spiagge più belle del
mondo. Qui la gente viene sia per le vacanze che per la ricreazione. La città di Nona offre divertimento e rigenera la salute, l’energia e l’autostima. Nona è la destinazione europea per eccellenza.
Ci sono tante piccole cose intessute nel suo passato e presente, tante
cose regalate dalla natura e create dall’uomo. Nona racconta la
sua storia! Le prove sono irrevocabili: la vita di questa città dura
da diversi millenni. E una giornata invece, dura di più. Se non ci
credete – abbiamo le prove… e
quante prove!
Prima prova:
un ricco tesoro…

Tutto a Nona – il centro turistico situato nella
Regione zaratina – fa trapelare la sua storia
e la tradizione gloriosa intessuta nella vita
quotidiana di questa regione e di tutta la
Croazia.
Nona è la città regale più vecchia della Croazia, la culla dello stato croato chiamata anche Betlemme croata.
Molti monumenti culturali ben conservati
testimoniano la sua storia gloriosa, e soprattutto le chiesette paleocroate risalenti al IX e
XI secolo, uniche non solo in Croazia ma su
tutto il territorio del Mediterraneo. La chiesa preromanica di santa Croce del IX secolo,
chiamata anche “la cattedrale più vecchia del
mondo”, ha una lunghezza di soli 36 passi. Uno dei simboli di
Nona è anche la chiesa
romantica di san Niccolò risalente all’XI secolo
che viene sempre collegata
con la tradizione orale del incoronamento dei re croati. Nel
Museo dell’antichità di Nona si trova la copia
del battistero del re Višeslav del IX secolo,
due navi paleocroate restaurate – la Condura
Croatica dell’XI secolo e la replica della Serillia Liburnica del I secolo. Ambedue le navi
sono state ritrovate sul territorio di Nona e
testimoniano lo stretto legame di questa città con il mare.
Ci sono ancora molte cose da non perdere…
Dei tempi antichi, ancor’oggi sono visibili i
resti della Porta cittadina inferiore, del tempio più grande sulla costa orientale adriatica, del mosaico del II secolo come anche
i resti delle unità abitative nel centro della
città. I resti delle mura orientali testimonia-

no l’importanza della Nona medievale. Nelle
strette vicinanze della Porta superiore della
città si trova la chiesetta di Sant’Ambrogio
(XIII secolo) ed il parco dedicato alla memoria del poeta Petar Zoranić Ninjanin. Nel centro della città si trova la chiesa parrocchiale
di Sant’Anselmo (VI-XVIII secolo), un tempo
la prima cattedrale della Croazia, nella quale si custodisce la statua miracolosa della
Madonna (Gospa od Zečeva). Date un’occhiata anche al Tesoro dell’arte sacra Oro e
argento di Nona.
Nona è nota anche per i suoi monumenti dedicati ad alcune persone famose di questo
paese. Nel centro della città è stata posta la
statua di bronzo del vescovo Gregorio di Nona
– se gli toccate l’alluce, secondo la tradizione,
il vostro desiderio sarà avverato. Non sorprende il fatto che il suo alluce sia liso dalle
tante mani che lo hanno toccato, perché a
Nona anno dopo anno aumenta il numero
di turisti. Gli abitanti di Nona, hanno segnato
con un monumento un momento particolare
della vita di ogni paese. Loro ringraziarono
così il principe Branimir, regnante il 7 giugno
879, quando la Croazia ricevette il primo riconoscimento internazionale – la benedizione di
Papa Giovanni VIII… Per ricordare questo giorno, la città di Nona vi festeggia la sua Giornata
della città, mentre la Croazia festeggia la Giornata della diplomazia croata.
Abbiamo detto tutto il necessario riguardo
la storia di Nona e dei suoi monumenti? Per
niente… il ricco Tesoro di Nona è un posto
ideale per la ricerca. Ci sono molti monumenti, racconti, leggende e credenze…
Seconda prova:
i ricchi doni della natura…
Nona si trova nel mezzo di una bassa laguna,
unica nel suo genere, ed il suo nucleo storico su un piccolo isolotto del diametro di 500
metri. Si trova a soli 14 chilometri di distanza da Zara.
Le sue spiagge di sabbia sono indimenticabili ed
annoverate tra le più belle del mondo.
Nona è anche la città del sale, che è stato la
fonte di ricchezza nella sua lunga storia. La
salina – che basa la sua produzione sulla tradizione millenaria della laguna di Nona – ha
aperto le sue porte ai turisti. Qui, sul posto,
saprete tutto sul processo di produzione del
sale, che è perfettamente identico a quello
che si usava all’epoca romana. Di quell’epoca, nel Parco di Salina sono sopravvissuti i

resti della porta di pietra attraverso la quale l’acqua marina entrava nelle piscine, ma
anche l’interessante mondo ornitologico
e quello della specifica vita marina che si è
adattata alle particolarità di questo territorio. Grazie all’ambiente pulito, al grande numero di giornate di sole, al vento favorevole
e alla posizione geografica particolare, il sale
di Nona è tra i sali di più alta qualità dell’Europa e del mondo. Vi assicuriamo che, dopo
questa visita, il ricordo di questo condimento, importante per ogni buon cibo, farà ritornare i vostri pensieri – sicuramente - a Nona.
Molti vengono qui alla ricerca della salute. Vicino alla bellissima spiaggia detta Spiaggia della
Regina, si trova il fango salutare (peloide) che
già da 40 anni viene usato con successo nella
cura delle malattie reumatiche, deformazioni
della schiena, problemi dell’apparato locomotore, infertilità femminile e diversi tipi di
malattie dermatologiche. La terapia si svolge
in un ambiente naturale e gradevole, ed i suoi
effetti aumentano con il bagno ed il nuoto nel
mare caldo. La costruzione del moderno centro
ricreativo-turistico, è solo un passo avanti…
momento fino ad oggi si venera l’apparizione
della Madonna. I Turchi, in segno di vendetta
per la sconfitta a Nona, bruciarono sull’isoletta vicina la chiesa ed il monastero, uccisero i
monaci e rubarono la statua. Secondo la leggenda, la buttarono nel mare, e la Madonna
“nuotò” da sola a Nona. La processione particolare con la quale la statua viene portata con

le barche sull’isola, è un evento indimenticabile sia per i cittadini che per i suoi ospiti…
Una tradizione che continua a vivere è senza
dubbio la barca “kaić” di Nona, una barca di
legno di una forma caratteristica. Il metodo
della sua costruzione si è conservato nella
tradizione orale delle famiglie locali. Com’è
fatta? Invece di descrivervela, vi invitiamo
a vederla: nel porto di Nona potete vedere
un centinaio di barche costruite a mano. Ma
quando venite, non dimenticate il piacere gastronomico – assaggiate lo “šokol”. Lo Šokol di
Nona è un prodotto autoctono di salumeria la
cui qualità è dovuta non sono alla carne ma
anche alle particolarità del territorio – il vino
Il patrimonio della tradizione non materiale è
intessuto nella quotidianità di Nona. Questo
legame dona alla vostra quotidianità sia la
possibilità di una fuga romantica nel passato,
sia il gusto dei valori universali. L’apparizione
della Madonna (Gospa od Zečeva) con il pellegrinaggio tradizionale alla vicina isola Zečevo
con le barche o a piedi, si basa su un racconto
interessante che vi porta all’inizio del XVI secolo. Nel 1516 la Madonna apparve alla pastora vedova Jelena, le diede un messaggio per
il popolo, e l’apparizione fù confermata dalle
lacrime della statua della Madonna. Da quel

rosso cotto, le spezie, il sale e la bora. La ricetta originale dello šokol – a cui è dedicata
la manifestazione “Ninska šokolijada” – è costodita gelosamente dalle famiglie locali che
la trasmettono solo per tradizione orale. Non
potrete avere i segreti di famiglia di questa ricetta, ma lo šokol si. Buon appetito!
Quarta prova:
la ricca offerta turistica!
Se venite per il riposo, il divertimento, la ricreazione, per la ricerca della salute, per il desiderio di esplorare il ricco Tesoro storico, se volete viaggiare con la macchina del tempo che
vi porta nel passato oppure godere dei ritmi
moderni del presente… siete nel posto giusto!
