Κατά τη διάρκεια της Προεδρίας της, η Κύπρος έχει σαν στόχο να εργαστεί «Προς μια Καλύτερη Ευρώπη», που να σημαίνει περισσότερα στους πολίτες της και στον κόσμο. Η Κυπριακή Προεδρία θα καταβάλει κάθε δυνατή προσπάθεια να παρουσιάσει απτά αποτελέσματα σε σχέση με τη συγκράτηση και το μετριασμό των επιπτώσεων της οικονομικής κρίσης, προωθώντας ταυτόχρονα τη χωρίς αποκλεισμούς και αειφόρο ανάπτυξη, την κοινωνική συνοχή και τη δημιουργία θέσεων εργασίας, ιδιαίτερα για τις νεότερες γενιές. Μέρος της προσδοκίας μας είναι να συνεισφέρουμε έτσι ώστε η Ευρώπη να καταστεί πιο «φιλόξενος τόπος» για τον άνθρωπο, τις ιδέες, τον πολιτισμό, τις επιχειρήσεις, τις επενδύσεις, τις υπηρεσίες, την καινοτομία. During its Presidency, Cyprus aims to promote the concept of working “Towards a Better Europe”, more relevant to its citizens and to the world. The Cyprus Presidency undertakes every effort to make a tangible impact towards containing and mitigating the effects of the economic crisis, while promoting inclusive and sustainable growth, social cohesion and job creation, especially for the younger generations. Part of our aspiration is to contribute towards making Europe a more “filoxenos topos” (hospitable space) for people, ideas, culture, enterprises, investment, services, innovation. Cyprus is committed to move the European Agenda forward in a pragmatic way and with the ambition to add value and address the challenges that lie ahead; a task assumed with enthusiasm and dedication. The Presidency is a collective effort, undertaken with great zeal by the Cypriot government and administration in order to make it a success.
