Some of the best coffee in Tokyo. Roast
their own beans. Amazing selection.
Great omelet sandwiches. Excellent cake.
One of the rare open-before-8am
breakfast spots in the city. Dinner is less
impressive but their morning tortilla /
egg / salsa concoction is quite
spectacular
Best sandwiches in Tokyo. Huge. Hearty.
Spectacular, thick, slices of bread. Also
great coffee and Hitachino craft beer.
Massively long bar counter. Endless
whiskeys. Walls covered in records. Best
stereo / sound setup in the city. Just
remember: keep your voice low.

As a non-meat eater I relish the often
rare, well-done veggie friendly spots. If
you’re a man, however, be forewarned:
You will be lunching with girls
Secret park perched above Nakameguro.
The real secret is the tiny street just
along side — stroll down until you hit
246; the cliffside mansions are a treat.
Denny’s — 24 Hour People Watching
Spot — Work late. Order little. Watch the
night folks do whatever it is night folks
do
Sturdy, well made, simple clothes,
inspired by mountaineering and WWI.
The Army Gym is Nigel Cabourn’s only
flagship international outpost.

Asakura House. A supposedly beautifully
preserved home / museum in
Daikanyama. Embarrassingly, despite
living five minutes walk away, I’ve yet to
visit.
