コロンビア大学建築都市計画歴史保存学部(GSAPP)は、
建築教育と技術開発と建設産業の間の壁を乗り
越えるために、
世界各地でシンクタンクを開催してまいりました。
ニューヨークをかわきりに、
ロンドン、
そして今回の東京、
さらに北京、
モスクワ、
ボンベイ、
リオデジャネロ
などを予定しています。
今回の東京会議の主題は、建築の『サイバーネーション』
です。瞬時に複雑な条件群に即応する設計や建
設のシステムの構築について論じます。
建築や都市の計画、
デザイン、建設におけるコンピュータやロボットの多様な応用に携わる世界各地の
デザイナー、
エンジニア、研究者、建設業関係者が一堂に会して一日議論をたたかわせます。技術的可能
性だけにとどまらず、
その及ぼす社会的側面、
経済的側面にも幅ひろく議論することになるでしょう。
ロマンチックな言い方が許されるなら、
機械と人間の『危険な友情』に考え及びたいのです。
その後、
『文化の日』にふさわしく、東京の夜景をながめながら、
ワインを傾け、未来の建設を語り合あい
ましょう。

You are invited to attend the third BUILDING INDUSTRY THINK TANK
Organized by Columbia University, GSAPP
On Wednesday, November 3, 2010, leading architects, engineers, contractors, fabricators and industry experts from
various countries including Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States will gather from 1-6PM at Roppongi
Academyhills, The Mori Building, Tokyo for a Think Tank to explore solutions that could change the building industry
for the better as part of the Columbia Building Intelligence Project (C-BIP).
The event is intended to create a conversation that is collaborative at its core simultaneously pushing today’s industry
leaders to think differently and transform how the next generation of professionals are educated. The Columbia Building

The Tokyo Think Tank will consist of three 60-minute sessions, each including a series of short
presentations followed by roundtable discussions. Simultaneous translation will be provided.
The day will conclude with a reception from 6-8PM, at the Roppongi Academyhills Library Cafe,
hosted by Architizer.
The C-BIP Tokyo Think Tank is organized in collaboration with The Mori Memorial Foundation, Tokyo with the professional endorsements of The Architect’s Institute of Japan (AIJ) and The Japan Institute of Architects (JIA).
This Think Tank is the third in a series hosted by Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning
and Preservation. Launched in 2009, C-BIP suppor ts a series of integrated studios at Columbia University and
public conversations devoted to advancing the dialogue about the building industry over the next three years.
