Kdg-Gavin Bigham Also in February, Haley Lugenbill—4 and Wyatt Lugenbill Prothe-5, Prothe will have a 2Dimensional and 3Diimesnsional piece of art exhibited at the downtown Olathe Public Library. Haley’s art is a 2D piece, and Wyatt’s is a 3D. Also, Madlyn Albert-2 has a 2D piece of art exhibited at Albert the State Capitol Building in Topeka, KS. These students did an outstanding job showing a high level of craftsmanship, took their time, and used their work time wisely. 1—Katie Guenther 2—Ava Mead 3—This grade was very busy making 3D projects during second quarter. Guest speakers from Oltjen Orthodontics will be visiting first grade to give a presentation on dental health, including all the best ways to take care of your teeth so that they will last a lifetime! They will also be giving the students a small bag of supplies to bring home, so be watching for that! Please be aware, this is a free service that this office offers to the Olathe community, Bits and Bytes Dr. Mollie Day will also be visiting Scarborough on February 23rd to provide cleaning, sealants and other needed care to students who enroll in the program. Enrollment forms for this program were sent home after the dental screening on February 3rd. Only students who return the forms will see the dentist. It is a free program available to all students. Grades 2-5 participated in a global program called “Hour of Code” and learned some tools of simple program writing. We continue to share our resources with families in need. Last school year, working together we provided more than 1,600 meals to kids in our own community. Please place ALL boxtops in the designated classroom bucket. The classroom with the most boxtops will win an ice cream party. Did you know you can go to www.boxtops4education.com and print off coupons? Plus, there are many opportunities available to win bonus boxtops. “E” boxtops can be earned by shopping online or an- swering survey questions about a particular boxtop product. Visit the boxtop website and check it out! Don’t forget to designate Scarborough as your school. Campbell’s Labels for Education Campbell’s will accept the UPC’s ONLY—please save UPS labels. They are accumulated as points which add up for us to purchase P.E. equipment and other items offered in the Campbell’s Labels for Education catalog. Labels go into the container in the school lobby. Hy-Vee Dollar$ for Scholar$ Keep turning in your Hy-Vee receipts—we receive cash back from Hy-Vee. It’s just that easy! Receipts must be from either Olathe Hy-Vee store and from May 2014 up to now. All Hy-Vee receipts go into the bin in the school lobby. Tyson Labels Please turn in the section that says “Project A+” and we will receive 24 cents per label! Coke Rewards are another easy fundraiser Scarborough is still participating in the My Coke Rewards for Schools Program! That means by drinking the Coca-Cola products your family already enjoys, you can get My Coke Rewards points and donate them to help our school. Your donations will go towards rewards like sports equipment that will help our students learn, play and have fun. It’s easy to donate: 1. Purchase your favorite Coca-Cola products to get codes (they’re on hundreds of different packages, in a variety of sizes and flavors!) 2. Go to mycokerewards.com/school & sign in (register if you aren’t a member). 3. Enter your codes to collect points—then search for our school to donate points. 4. Enter the amount of points you’d like to give, then click “Donate.” The Scarborough Spirit Store will be open the last Friday of every month on Spirit Days!
