The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Burns District, plans to implement approximately 40,000 acres of aerial spray treatments for Medusahead rye and cheatgrass on public land beginning the week of August 3. Both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft will be used in effort and there will be concurrent treatments on private lands in the same or nearby vicinities.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Burns District, plans to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the National Landscape Conservation System (NLCS) with a service project at Riddle Brothers' Ranch on Thursday, July 30. Volunteers are invited to join the Northwest Youth Corps, Oregon Youth Conservation Corps, and a handful of individual volunteers from across the state to rebuild a portion of the Ranch's historic Willow Corral.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wenatchee Field Office will be conducting aerial seeding of native grass species in several locations around central Washington in response to wildfires that burned in 2015. The locations to be seeded include the Wenatchee Foothills within the Sleepy Hollow fire, the Monument Hill fire near Quincy, Chelan Butte near Chelan, and McLaughlin Canyon in central Okanogan County.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) welcomes 15 newly appointed members to its citizen-based Southwest Oregon Resource Advisory Council (RAC) which will advise the BLM on public land issues. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Vale District is restricting public uses on public lands which will take effect on Friday July 24, 2009. To ensure the continued enjoyment of BLM public lands, visitors must be aware of the public use restrictions in place on the areas they travel to this summer. The restrictions that are going into effect are due to an extreme build-up of dry fine fuels and high temperatures.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Vale District has released its Baker Field Office Draft Resource Management Plan (RMP)//Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The RMP is being revised for BLM-administered lands within Baker, Union, Wallowa, Umatilla, Morrow, and Malheur Counties in Oregon and Asotin County in Washington. The public lands that make up the Decision Area encompass approximately 428,425 surface acres in northeastern Oregon and southeastern Washington.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) today released fiscal year (FY) 2015 statistics for oil and gas permitting, leasing and drilling activity on lands where BLM permits are required. Production from those lands, both Federal and Indian, increased 10 percent over FY 2014 and went up more than 108 percent since 2008. This compares to an 88 percent increase in oil production nationally over the same period, based on data obtained from the Office of Natural Resources Revenue and the Energy Information Administration.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) today released an update on a bureauwide initiative that is helping the agency evaluate and respond to public land issues such as wildfire, energy development, and climate change while continuing to promote the smart use of the public lands. The initiative, called the Landscape Approach for Managing the Public Lands, looks for ecological conditions, patterns, and management opportunities that may not be evident when managing smaller land areas.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Spokane District, has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) that addresses grazing use and incorporates recommendations for greater sage-grouse habitat management on lands administered by the BLM, Wenatchee Field Office within the Sulphur Canyon Allotment. This allotment is located in Douglas County, Washington, approximately 14 miles northwest of Coulee City.
