Roseburg, Ore. -- Christmas tree permits will be available from the Bureau of Land Management's Roseburg District Office from November 21 through December 23, 2011. The cost for a single tree up to 12 feet high is $5.00. There is a limit of three trees per household. No commercial permits will be issued.
Roseburg, Ore. - The Roseburg District, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will host three volunteer work days, December 11, 2010, January 17, 2011, and February 12, 2011 at the North Bank Habitat Management Area (NBHMA), 20 miles northeast of Roseburg, Oregon. Volunteer opportunities include shrub planting, fence installation and willow pole planting.
Roseburg, Ore. - The Roseburg District Bureau of Land Management will be performing maintenance on the Tioga Segment of the North Umpqua Trail beginning Monday, July 23, with completion on Friday, July 27. The trail will be closed two miles east from the Swiftwater Trailhead. The trail will be impassable to all traffic during the maintenance period.
Roseburg, Ore. - The Roseburg District Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will implement a decision discontinue allowing helpers on all non-rock and non-board feet permits purchased from the District beginning October 1, 2014. These will include, but are not limited to, the collection of things such as: cedar boughs, greenery (such as salal), and mushrooms.
Roseburg, Ore. - The Cow Creek Back Country Byway, managed by the Bureau of Land Management, will remain closed until further notice due to the Douglas Complex of wildfires currently burning in the area. The Cow Creek Back Country Byway runs along Cow Creek, west of Riddle, OR and West of Glendale, OR. Cow Creek Road from Riddle into the fire area and from Glendale into the fire have been closed.
Roseburg, Ore. - The Bureau of Land Management, Roseburg District would like to invite interested members of the public to tour the completed Buck Rising Variable Retention Harvest (VRH) timber sale on July 16, 2014. Buck Rising is part of the Secretarial Pilot Projects initiated in 2010 demonstrating ecological forestry principles.
Roseburg, Ore. - The Bureau of Land Management, Roseburg District is pleased to announce the campground opening dates for the 2014 season. Tyee Campground is currently open, Susan Creek Campground opens April 18, Millpond Campground opens May 9, and Cavitt Creek Falls and Rock Creek Campgrounds open May 16.
Roseburg, Ore. - The Bureau of Land Management, Medford District, Grants Pass Resource Area and Roseburg District, South River Resource Area are continuing to work with landowners and partner agencies to address resource and safety needs within the Douglas complex fire perimeter. The BLM will be extending a Temporary Emergency closure of public lands in Douglas County and Josephine County, Oregon until September 30, 2013.
