WELCOME TO ZAGREB!
Zagreb is a city where the past and present intertwine. According to official data, the
city has approximately 800,000 inhabitants. In the Upper and Lower Town and newer
parts, which have “jumped over” the River Sava, there are numerous museums and
galleries, valuable structures, beautiful parks and other attractions. Many were also
thrilled by its special atmosphere and the hospitality of its inhabitants.
In order to get to know Zagreb, you can take a large number of general or thematic city
tours. They are guided by expert, licensed guides and - along with English and German
- city tours are available in many other languages.
Information on city tours can be obtained from the organizers of particular programmes
or at Tourist Information Centres.

Attraktionen. Viele Besucher begeistert aber auch die besondere Atmosphäre, die in der

Sie können aus einer Vielzahl an Besichtigungstouren wählen, um die Stadt näher
kennen zu lernen. Manche der Touren sind allgemein gehalten, andere haben
einen thematischen Schwerpunkt. Alle werden von sachkundigen und lizenzierten

VeÊina znamenitosti zagrebaËkoga Gornjeg i Donjeg grada odredište je ovog razgleda grada
turistiËkim kabrio autobusom koji polazi s Kaptola, u samom središtu grada. Uz gornjogradske i
donjogradske povijesne zgrade i druge znamenitosti, crvena turistiËka linija ukljuËuje i znamenito
groblje Mirogoj koje nije samo posljednje poËivalište mnogih liËnosti iz hrvatske povijesti nego
i prava umjetniËka riznica skulptura i hortikulture. Jedna vožnja traje 70 minuta. Zavisno o
radovima na cesti vožnja na liniji Êe trajati 20 minuta dulje od uobiËajene.

RED LINE
Most of the landmarks in the Upper and Lower Town of Zagreb are destinations of this city tour by open
top tourist buses that leave from Kaptol, the very centre of the city. Along with the historical buildings
and other monuments of the Upper and Lower Towns, the red tourist line also includes the famous
Mirogoj cemetery, which is not only the final resting place of many figures from Croatian history, but
also a true artistic treasury of sculptures and horticulture. One ride takes 70 minutes. Depending on
roadworks, the ride will take 20 minutes longer than usual.

ROTE LINIE
Diese Besichtigungstour hat eine Vielzahl an Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Ober- und Unterstadt zum Ziel.
Sie wird mit einem Cabrio-Bus durchgeführt. Abfahrtsort ist die Kaptolstraße im Stadtzentrum. Neben
zahlreichen historischen Gebäuden und anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Ober- und Unterstadt wird
auch der berühmte Friedhof Mirogoj angefahren. Der Friedhof ist nicht nur die letzte Ruhestätte vieler
Persönlichkeiten der kroatischen Geschichte, sondern auch eine wahre künstlerische Schatzkiste an
Skulpturen und Gartenkunst. Eine Fahrt dauert 70 Minuten. Je nach Bauarbeiten auf der Strecke dauert
die Fahrt 20 Minuten länger als gewöhnlich.

ZAGREB CITY TOUR
Kombinacijom vožnje i šetnje upoznat Êete sve znamenitosti i tajne Zagreba. Prilika je

By combining riding and walking you will get to know all the landmarks and secrets of
Zagreb. This is a chance to see the Lower Town, built in the 19th and 20th centuries, and
all its landmarks from a minibus, and also visit the Mirogoj cemetery and its arcades,
where many historical figures were buried. Then you will return into downtown Zagreb
and the old city core and visit GriË and Kaptol on foot and also hear many historical
facts and legends about the city.
Eine Kombination aus Besichtigungsfahrt und Stadtrundgang bringt Sie zu allen

If you want to feel the mystique of the Upper Town nights, prepare for many surprises.
Based on free interpretation of the motifs of novels from the Zagreb author Marija JuriÊ
Zagorka (end of the 19th c. and first half of the 20th c.), this interactive tour was
created to acquaint you with historical figures, sometime interesting and sometimes
truly horrendous events. Some of the events will make you feel warm at heart, some will
frighten you, but in any case, your adrenaline will soar.

A fun and interactive city tour that teaches you the basics of the Croatian language.
During the city tour we teach our guests why Zagrebians greet each other with “bok“,
where the name for Croatian currency comes from and how to express your affection for
somebody in Croatian. New vocabulary and useful phrases are contained in an activity
book given to each guest at the beginning of the tour. The guest becomes a student and
the guide, a Croatian teacher. This is a city tour that uses language to bring Croatian
history and culture closer to the visitor.
SPRECHEN SIE KROATISCH?
In einer amüsanten und interaktiven Art und Weise werden die Gäste in die Grundlagen der kroatischen Sprache eingeführt. Bei der Besichtigung lernen die Gäste wieso
die Zagreber „bok“ als Grußwort nutzen, woher der Name für die kroatische Währung
kommt und wie man auf Kroatisch “Ich liebe dich” sagt. Zu Beginn der Besichtigung
bekommt jeder Gast ein Übungsheft mit ein paar neuen Wörtern und Redewendungen.

out what socialism was all about, we’ve designed the New Zagreb Tour! Crossing over
the river Sava you’ll be entering completely different scenery, discovering a very complex

the development of our city from World War 2 onwards, mainly through that “mystical“
time of communism, and see how this whole area of Zagreb is alive and breathing today.

Prije 40 godina Zagreb je dobio svoje Prizemljeno sunce, skulpturu hrvatskog
suvremenog umjetnika Ivana KožariÊa. 2004. godine dobili smo ostatak SunËevog
sustava, ambijentalnu instalaciju koja zajedno sa skulpturom Prizemljeno sunce
Ëini model SunËevog sustava. Proporcije modela jednake su onima u naravi! Ovu
jedinstvenu umjetniËku kreaciju izabrali smo kao platformu za šire upoznavanje grada.
Osim obilaska donjogradskog dijela KlasiËne ture zavirit Êemo i u rezidencijalni dio
grada, a dobit Êete i originalnu priËu!
SOLAR SYSTEM TOUR
Zagreb has had its Grounded Sun for about 40 years and is the work of Ivan KožariÊ, a
Croatian contemporary artist. In 2004, we managed to get the rest of the Solar System,
an ambient installation which, along with the Grounded Sun, makes up a consistent
model of the entire Solar System. The relative sizes of the sculptures, as well as their
distances from the Grounded Sun are all in proper proportion to the Solar System. We’ll
use it as a platform to explore the city, primarily the Lower Town, and it provides proof of
Zagreb’s significance in the European art and cultural scene. Along with the usual city
sights, you’ll get this additional story!

Vor 40 Jahren bekam Zagreb seine ebenerdige Sonne, eine Skulptur des modernen
Künstlers Ivan KožariÊ. Im Jahr 2004 bekamen wir den Rest des Sonnensystems, eine
Installation, die mit der Skulptur “Ebenerdige Sonne” ein Sonnensystemmodell darstellt.

Êemo kraj nekoliko pitoresknih planinarskih domova a zatim se „izgubiti“ u dubokoj šumi. Tijekom
vožnje kroz duboku hladovinu otvarat Êe nam se vidici na grad. Kraj ture završava 20 minutnim
spustom asfaltiranom cestom s koje se cijelo vrijeme pruža pogled na grad. Vikendima je moguÊ
posjet spilji Veternici u trajanju od 1 h.
SLJEME ADVENTURE - IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
The starting point of this undemanding mountain-biking tour is Sljeme - the top of the Medvednica
Mountain. From the top (1035m) looking in one direction you can see the winegrowing region of
Hrvatsko Zagorje and the only skiing piste in Northern Croatia, and looking in the other direction
you can see the whole of the city of Zagreb. After the top we can only go downhill! We’ll pass by a
number of picturesque climbers’ chalets and than “get lost“ in the deep forest. During our ride in
the deep shade of trees, every now and then we’ll catch glimpses of the city. The tour ends with a
20-minute downhill ride on the asphalt road overlooking the city. At weekends a visit to Veternica
Cave in duration of 1 hour is possible.

Der Beginn dieser nicht anstregenden Bergfahrradtour ist auf dem Sljeme - dem Gipfel des
Medvednicagebirges. Von einer Seite des Gipfels sieht man die Weinregion von Hrvatsko Zagorje
und die einzige Skipiste in Nordkroatien, und von der anderen die ganze Stadt Zagreb. Vom Gipfel
kann man nur herunterfahren! Wir werden an einigen malerischen Berggasthäusern vorbeifahren
und uns dann im tiefen Wald „verlieren“. Während der Fahrt im dichten Schatten werden wir
immer wieder die Stadt erblicken. Die Fahrradtour endet mit einer 20-minütigen Fahrt auf einer
Asphaltstraße von der aus man die ganze Zeit den Blick auf die Stadt hat. An Wochenenden ist
ein einstündiger Besuch der Höhle Veternica möglich.

It’s always the same, where you have knights and fairies, you also have witches. Once
upon a time, this was the case in Gradec, now Upper Town, where, as told in the story

One of them was evil and put a spell on the city, and only you can undo that spell and

This walk through time and space, life and art of the famous Croatian sculptor,
is a unique experience for art lovers. A rich collection of ten public sculptures and
monuments, two architectural achievements and numerous works found in three
museums and three churches give an insight into the artist’s creativity in general,
and present an interesting range of topics that he was intrigued by. The topics include
portraits of historical figures, symbolic themes, allegories, heroic scenes and a special
dedication to the female figure through the theme of motherhood and nude portrayal.
