She was employed with a church software company for over 12 years where she traveled around the country training churches on accounting and payroll. After receiving her forensic accounting degree in 2011, she started her own accounting business working specifically with churches. Mary Lou has a heart for educating church personnel on best practices and "doing the right thing." Her practice centers on assisting churches get their financial records in order as well as fraud prevention. In 1997 she became a Certified Church Administrator (CCA). In 2011 she became a member of the National Association of Church Business Administration (NACBA). She received a Bachelor of Forensic Accounting degree from Franklin University in 2012. She became a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in 2013. Mary was also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and received her 2012 and 2013 Certifications. She received her re-certification as a Certified Church Administrator (CCA) with NACBA (now The Church Network) in 2014 . She is also a Certified ProAdvisor with QuickBooks Online.
