In particular I am interested in the construction and development of identity and intergroup relations in liberal societies that are characterized by the ideology of meritocracy. For instance, I work on perceptions of justice and resource distribution between groups in conflict. In addition I am interested in issues of cultural adaptation and the relationship between local populations and immigrants. I am particularly interested in the social inclusion of different groups and classes and in issues of social conflict. Within this framework I work on political participation and the factors that influence it. I also work on common sense knowledge and the interaction between identity, culture and the development of different identities in multicultural societies.
